According to Newslibrary, on November 23, 1988, Merced Gonzalez had gotten off work with his co-worker Gabriel Rivas. After starting to drink beer in their car, Merced and Gabriel renewed an argument that had apparently started several years earlier. Merced went to get more beer, and when he returned he allegedly shot Gabriel to death. Merced fled afterwards while a witness called police.
Based on crime location, it is advised to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS if you have any information on Merced Jiminiz Gonzalez's whereabouts.

Thoughts? I learned about this case earlier this year while going through the large list of fugitives wanted for murder on the current Crime Stoppers of Houston website. I didn't want to go through their listing again to locate Merced's photo for this thread (it would have taken really long) so I found the 2012 archived crime stoppers page to include his photo.
If you were to check the Harris County court records page, this murder entry from 1988 would show as "dismissed" even though the last update occurred in 1989. As we've seen from other cases, I think what's happened here is that this case has been dismissed without prejudice, meaning it can be reopened and tried in the future if new evidence is discovered, or if Merced is finally caught. Any additonal information regarding this would be appreciated through our website contact form.
What I also found interesting is that there was no place of birth, hair colour or eye colour on the court document for Merced Gonzalez. I imagine authorities may therefore not know that much about him.
