He was aired on AMW three times from 2008 to 2010. Pierre Mai ended his relationship with his girlfriend and she began to see Happy Pham. Around November 2006, Pierre got back together with the same girlfriend, making Happy very unhappy. On Dec 13, 2006, authorities say Happy went to a Cajun restaurant where Pierre was dining with the girlfriend and some other friends. Happy then shot Pierre to death, then was chased out of the restaurant by an employee with a gun. Surveillance tapes identified Happy as the shooter. Thoughts? Happy could easily blend in with any Vietnamese community in the US, or could have fled to Canada, according to his archived AMW.com profile. www.crime-stoppers.org/murderwarrants.html**************UPDATE****************************** Happy Pham has been captured in Houston, Texas after nearly a decade on the run. *************UPDATE******************************* Admin Note: If you have any updated information on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

I think the problem, although AMW has caught a few, with catching Asian fugitives is it's not even other countries but the fact there are so many Asian communities in America where they could blend in. It is a bit like finding a needle in a haystack. As a matter of fact, it's easier for any ethnicity fugitive to go to a neighborhood with the same background as them (i.e. an Albanian fugitive in an Albanian neighborhood, etc).
For some reason, I can even see him in Chinatown or Flushing, two neighborhoods with a heavy Asian population in NYC.
Canada is intriguing though, and I feel he is still somewhere in North America.

We gave him Life! It will be 30 years before he has the option of parole. The video evidence was overwhelming.

He claimed self defense.... The video stopped short of the victims table. So we were unable to see Pierre's actions. He said Pierre was drawing a gun... However, Happy entered the restaurant with FAST speed and immediately drew his weapon!!, we did not see how Pierre could have been that fast! (Pierre wasn't expecting Happy, but Happy had gotten a text from a family member who was at the table right next to Pierre telling him that Pierre was there with the ex) Also the table and Pierre's friends would have obscured Happy's view of whatever Pierre "might" have been doing. It was also VERY strange that everyone EXCEPT his cousin (who was at the table next to Pierre) was running and hitting the floor. His cousin was there with his baby in a high chair and his Fiance'... they were only about 4 feet from Pierre and NEVER moved during the shooting! We all agreed that IF Pierre had been drawing a weapon ANY parent would have grabbed that child immediately! But they sat very still and calm. Hope all that makes sense... At the punishment phase we were shown a full table of marijuana that Happy had with him in addition to 2 guns and $26,000. He showed zero remorse while on the stand. That is it in a "nutshell" There were many things that factored in our decisions .. ** The fact that 12 very diverse jurors were able to come to a UNANIMOUS decision on both Guilt and Sentence says a lot.
