Sad news that after 33 years, Crimewatch in the UK, considered the show that America's Most Wanted was partially modeled on, has been cancelled by the BBC network.

Disappointing to see, but I guess in a sense not entirely surprising considered what happened to AMW.

It is very disappointing to see, but to it's credit, the majority of TV news/documentary programs do not last 33 years. That was a long achievement and showed that the people of the UK also wanted to fight back and get justice for crime victims. Hopefully like The Hunt, the UK gets another similar program.

One thing I noticed in the article was the host partially blamed that we're now in the dvr-era because Crimewatch is a live appeal show, more people are recording and watching later, and apparently the hotlines are down in the day.

So apparently Crimewatch unlike America's Most Wanted didn't have a 24-7 hotline, so that didn't help.
