Photo Credits: The Kansas City Star DOB: 09/21/89 -- On August 30, 2016, authorities in Kansas City, Missouri say that Keith Carnes was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed when he ran a red light and crashed into another car. Killed in the impact was the driver of the other car, Patrick Mercer. A gun and marijuana were found in Keith's car and toxicology results showed that Keith was under the influence of cocaine, marijuana and PCP at the time he was driving. Keith was charged in January 2017 but fled soon afterwards. Based on crime location, it is advised to contact the Kansas City TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS if you have any information on Keith Carnes's whereabouts.Moderator Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form --Thoughts? Patrick Mercer was a professional rugby player and probably would have had a great career in that sport had Keith Carnes not allegedly driven under the influence of three different drugs and killed him. Keith has prior felony convictions so I doubt he's quit his criminal lifestyle and that may lead to his capture if someone doesn't recognize him. kc-crime.unionactive.com/My%20Docs/Most%20Wanted/2017/GKCCS%20MOST%20WANTED%209-22-17.pdfwww.kansascity.com/news/local/crime/article126223844.html

Based on a November 2019 article, we have a really bizarre ending to this case. Keith was arrested at some point before the article, because he had been convicted in federal court of illegally possessing firearms. Apparently, Keith himself was suffering from a gunshot wound when he was driving to the hospital and caused the collision that killed Patrick Mercer. A witness picked out Keith in a line-up as the man who shot him, I'm guessing the witness returned fire or something like that. Keith faced a sentence of up to ten years on three separate counts. fox4kc.com/news/kc-man-who-suffered-gunshot-wounds-convicted-of-illegal-gun-charges-after-fatal-2016-crash/amp/
