From time to time, I will be listing in this thread dvd sets of true crime shows that I have created. These sets, which took years to construct, will be available from me through trading and whatnot (please PM me for more information).
The first set is the nearly complete run (missing just one episode) of the original run of Cold Case Files in the 2000's, hosted by Bill Kurtis, which recounts older crimes. This set contains 31 dvds, with 4 episodes per disc, for a total of 124 episodes. There are literally hundreds of segments here. I have not done a complete episode guide for this particular set, however I will list some of the more memorable cases below. The only episode I am missing is the "Innocence Files", so if anyone has that, please contact me. This also does not contain any of the new episodes from the short-lived reboot, which was widely panned by fans and suffered from apparent low ratings. This set does contain several extremely rare episodes, including one that was yanked from syndication, and one that is not on any of the episode guides.
Stories include:
The Original Night Stalker - The infamous case of a California predator who broke into homes at night while the victims were sleeping and raped many women, eventually escalating to murder. One of the few stories that takes up the whole hour and one of the few unsolved cases ever to be profiled on the show.
Mommy's Rules - In Sacramento, California, Theresa Knorr subjects her six children to horrific abuse, with her middle daughter Suesan receiving the harshest treatment.
Murder Illustrated - Bizarre story about a Colorado teen who finds a dead woman on his lawn while walking to the bus stop and eventually gets convicted of her murder based on some drawings he made. (His conviction would later get thrown out -- thankfully). The real killer has yet to be found. Has not aired on television in many years and will never be aired on t.v. again.
Fire Flicks - A creepy California arsonist videotapes his crimes.
The Missing Hunters - The 1985 disappearance of two hunters from Michigan, who apparently met a gruesome and horrifying death.
Vintage Murder - Dawn Maygar disappears from a shopping trip in Chesaning, MI in 1973 and later turns up murdered, having also been raped. The case goes cold, but several unbelievable chance encounters over the years work together to find her killer.
The Paper Route - An older woman from South Carolina is murdered in the middle of the night after dropping off newspapers at a convenience store. (A coworker of mine used to date her granddaughter).
Traces Of Murder - Captivating story about an immigrant who was murdered in New York City in 1985 at his factory job with the killer's motive unknown. An unbelievable clue breaks the case.
Lil' Miss - Lisa Marie Kimmel is murdered one night in Wyoming, while en route from Colorado to Montana to visit her boyfriend. Her mother Sheila doggedly pursues justice until the killer is found, having buried her car.
The Bob Crane Murder - Actor Bob Crane is murdered with a tripod (still technically unsolved).
The Tortured Truth - A young man in Wisconsin kidnaps boys and breaks their legs.
The Hitmakers - Country music charter Kevin Hughes is gunned down in Nashville.
