So according to media reports, Paddock may have actually been planning to escape but only killed himself because police closed in on him. Also, him having an accomplice cannot be ruled out. If the FBI makes an official investigation page I'll make a thread "Las Vegas Shooting Investigation" and put it in the Unsolved on TV section (since obviously this has been all over tv, crime shows or otherwise). For the time being I want to wait until they do though. He also appeared to have booked rooms overlooking other music events in Las Vegas over the coarse of September. Also paddock was seen with a mysterious woman days before the shooting. www.google.com/amp/abcnews.go.com/amp/US/las-vegas-shooter-booked-hotel-overlooking-lollapalooza-visited/story%3Fid=50273390

Thanks and thanks for the legitimate news article.
Lots of unfortunate dumb conspiracy theories cloud the investigation, but a lot does need to be sorted out as well.

Once again I feel an official investigation page/poster on the FBI website itself is the requirement to make a thread since the case is technically solved just not the motive.
But still very frustrating we don't have a known motive yet. His wife said he would wake up screaming and have nightmares and stuff which *might* suggest a mental health issue- however, Paddock very methodically planned this out- scouted out other possible locations in Chicago and Boston, knew the types of bullets he wanted to use etc... so to call him mentally ill sort of contradicts how deliberate he was.

I really don’t want to jump to conclusions about a motive but he clearly was conscience of what he was doing and makes me wonder since he was allegedly a millionaire that perhaps he was feeling desperate financially and needed a way out. It all doesn’t add up since Paddock in a way told Marilou Danley to take a vacation to the Philippines and wired her $100,000, which would also make a person wonder if he was just withdrawing from everything and everyone altogether.

I don't recall reading about him struggling financially and based on articles seemed to be doing well for himself.
Also, this obviously isn't a case of him being upset with his love life, since he sent his girlfriend away to her home country and she thought he was breaking up with her and not the other way around.
Also this was a country music event but he also had Lollapalooza in Chicago as a potential target which was not a country music event. So I dont think the demographics were a reason.
Basically I keep thinking of logical reasons against a motive rather than for motive.
Giving the current political climate, some will say it had something to do with Trump but I think his brother said he wasn't really political.
A 64 year old white male is not a likely candidate to join ISIS.
I hate to say it but there's part of me that sometimes wonders- as scary as it sounds- what if there was no motive and he did it for the "thrill"? He was a huge gambler which is high stakes- and perhaps that wasn't doing enough for him anymore. This was his new adrenaline rush.
Who knows, I've probably speculated too much already if we need to make a thread and I've already used up all my theories in this off-topic discussion, but like everyone trying to figure this out.
