DOB: 08/26/77 Photo Credits: Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County -- According to newspapers.com, Maria Narez was trying to get her three-year old daughter Kasandra to go to bed when Kasandra refused. Maria then allegedly picked Kasandra up and threw her against the wall due to stress, Kasandra's head hitting a door. Kasandra started to cry, saying that her head hurts and then went to bed. Soon afterwards, Maria took Kasandra to a hospital. Kasandra died from what was revealed to be blunt force trauma on November 17, 1996. She was arrested but soon fled afterwards. Based on crime location, it is advised to contact Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at 817-469-8477 if you have any information on Maria Narez's whereabouts.Moderator Note: Any news-related updates on this case can be forwarded to us at amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form --Thoughts? I actually messaged Scumhunter a little while ago since I couldn't manage to copy the image url link from the Tarrant County Crimestoppers website based on how it was set up. Thankfully, I then figured out I could just use Windows 10 to snip the image on my computer and upload it as an attachment. As for this case, I am not a parent but I know it has it's stressful moments, especially with very young children. However, it does not a genius to realize throwing a child against a wall and door, is going to cause serious injury. It also should have been obvious that Kasandra should have been taken to the hospital immediately and not having go to sleep in her own bed. This is where the Capital Murder charge comes in. Edit: Just also wanted to mention that according to the 1996 article, Maria was last working as a grocery checkout clerk. She may be in that field of employment today. 469tips.com/most-wanted

Maria was only 19 years old when she allegedly murdered her own child. While not excusing it, at her age, there may have been some sympathy from a judge/jury because of her youth as being a mother at that young an age cannot be easy.
However, rather than tell her side of the story, Maria chose to go on the run for 20-plus years and counting so far.
Maria, if she's out there, needs to take responsibility now that she's an adult in her 40's, and turn herself in.

Found a 1997 Dallas Crime Stoppers wanted piece through Newslibrary that referenced the Maria Narez manhunt.
In the article, they mentioned that she may use the alias "Maria Jarez" and she also has a scar on her left hand.

Maria Narez was featured Wednesday on the Crime Stoppers Of Tarrant County Facebook page. This confirms that she is still at large as of March 22, 2023. I checked PACER and did not see an UFAP (Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution) case for her. Additionally I have some more information on Kassandra White's death, now that the Fort Worth Star Telegram archives are available on Newspapers.com. After Kassandra's injury, Maria only took her daughter to the hospital a few days later. The morning after the injury, Kassandra did not talk as much and began limping and walking slower. During a morning outing, Kassandra vomited and Maria took her back home. Kassandra lapsed into unconsciousness and Maria and her boyfriend tried to revive her with rubbing alcohol. When Maria finally took Kassandra to the hospital, she lied and said that Kassandra fell off a bicycle. When hospital staff did not believe the story, Maria admitted what she had allegedly done. Kassandra had actually been raised by her grandmother for the first two years of her life. In the last month of her life, the grandmother only saw Kassandra twice. Kassandra had several bruises in various degrees of healing, indicating that she may have been abused on other occasions. www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=608674374621794&set=pb.100064377111352.-2207520000.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Maria Narez is still in Texas probably in Houston or still in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, how much it’s grown and how many people have moved there since she went on the run , She’s still got to be out there not far from where the crime occurred and the passage of time and the geographic and demographic changes in the Metroplex, she’s possibly hiding in plain sight, especially if this case hasn’t gotten that much publicity over the years.
