From azcentral.com: A 2016 murder that occurred at Rawls Motel in Mesa remains unsolved more than a year later. On June 26, 2016, Mesa police officers responded to the hotel, at 1310 W. Main Street near Alma School Road, about 9:15 a.m. for a welfare check call and found Joshua Aguilera, 34, facedown with an apparent fatal gunshot wound, the Mesa Police Department said. Detectives investigated but struggled to find leads. During their investigation, detectives did report that after gunshots were heard from the motel, two Hispanic males, potentially in their 30s, were seen leaving the area, authorities said. One of the suspects was described as weighing about 200 pounds, between 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a long, dark ponytail. A Mesa Police Department sketch artist created a composite sketch of the potential suspect. Anyone with information was encouraged to call the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211 or Silent Witness at 480-Witness.www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/mesa/2017/09/13/joshua-aguilera-murder-mesa-motel-still-unsolved/662493001/Thoughts? The first possibility that came to mind was either a robbery or an attempted robbery. Did Joshua still have his wallet on him or any other valuables such as a phone?
The sketch is really good and if the killer is still in the Phoenix metro area hopefully he'll be recognized soon.
