This subject is wanted for Attempted Murder. On November 2, 1980 the suspect did shoot anothr person in the neck with a handgun outside the Margaritas Bar located at Westchester Ave, in the village of Port Chester. Suspect was charged with attempted murder.

Thoughts? Not the most info or best picture to work with but still wanted to add Mendoza to our site since he is considered one of Westchester County, NY's Most Wanted fugitives.

Some additional information from a July 17, 1981 Newspapers.com article regarding a 26-year old Hector Mendoza out of Westchester County, NY. They referenced an attempted second-degree murder charge so this has to be the same guy.

Apparently, Hector was originally held without bail for the bar shooting, however he and other inmates had rioted in prison over "overcrowding" and "excessive bail". As a result, Hector was allowed to post a $2,000 bail. I'm assuming he paid that and then went on the run.
