I was curious to see whether anyone here had any situations happen in their lives that could've been shown on AMW. I know we've had relatives of fugitives and victims, and even victims themselves post here, but I was wondering if any regular posters had anything happen in their lives. I have 1.
Back in middle school/junior high, I didn't run with a good crowd. We were in southern Oklahoma, just 30 minutes from Texas, and we were just a bunch of punks and thugs. We would shoplift, tag buildings, drink, smoke weed, etc. While most people couldn't care less, since it was when I was 10-13, it's safe to say I was heading down the wrong path. Eventually, we moved to Illinois, where I cleaned myself up. But back then, I had a friend, who I'll call Barry. Me and him were close friends, playing video games together, spending the night at each others homes, etc. But it was clear where he was heading. Barry had a brother serving decades for dealing with gangs connected to the Sinaloa cartel. Looking back, it was obvious where he'd end up, but I didn't think like that. After I moved, we chatted a few times, but that was it. In late 2009, a mutual friend told me that Barry was wanted in regards to a shooting that happened not far from where I lived. Basically, he and another guy shot up these apartment complexes, hitting one guy in the leg, and a 2 year-old girl in the stomach. Luckily, she survived. He fled, was on the run for a few months, and was eventually arrested and is serving time. I was just amazed he was capable of doing that, and thought how weird it would be if he was shown on AMW.
Anyone here have their own story?

In 2003, there was a straight-F student who claimed I wore... (something I used to wear up to 1995) and made fun of me for it 5 times over about a month. At best, he probably wanted to humiliate me so he could feel better about himself. At worst, he may have lusted after me (I was in 7th grade and looked like I was only 8 years old). In retrospect, he could've fantasized about putting... (that thing I used to wear up to 1995) on me and videotaping himself violating me. I never forgot his name, and I dread the day he gets named a suspect in sexual videotapes of children under 10 years old. In 2007, I was in 11th grade and looked like I was only 11 years old (5 years younger than my classmates). Two of my classmates told me they'd taken hidden camera footage of me and posted it to two graphic websites, but said videos didn't exist. Whoever they may say it to next, they better be bluffing like they were with me, or else they'll be an easy grab if AMW is on the air by then. I have a mild difference that inhibits my judgment, so I'm described as particularly vulnerable to sexual violation. Despite being in my 20s, people mistake me for a child 15 and under based on my appearance, making me a potential target for ephebophiles. The day may come when I have to file a police report saying I or someone I know has been sexually battered, but I would see to it that the abuser would not strike again.
Too long, didn't read; I've had a few near-miss brushes with remotely potential future sex offenders over the years, but if they ever made the news for getting arrested, it would still be an off-the-wall scenario. I am at somewhat higher risk for being victimized.
