Menjivar-Herrera DOB: 11/10/1980 Description: Hispanic male , Brown eyes, Brown hair, 5'06, 160lbs Last Known Address: 2924 S. 18th St. Omaha, NE Who to call if you've seen him: Sarpy County (Nebraska) Crime Stoppers at 402-592-7867.Oscar Menjivar-Herrera who was aired as an APB fugitive on AMW's Facebook episode (Aug 17, 2012) is wanted in Nebraska on escape and sexual assault charges. Menjivar-Herrera was arrested in Florida on Jun 25, 2012, and charged with sexual assault. In July 2012, authorities say he escaped from his prison transport van while he was being transported to Nebraska. While one of the van guards was sleeping and the other was in a gas station, Menjivar-Herrera picked his handcuffs and escaped from the back-door because it wasn't locked from the inside. On Aug 7, 2012, the escapee was spotted in Omaha, Nebraska, knocking on doors and asking for food, water and a cellphone. He may have contacted people to help him flee to Mexico. Menjivar-Herrera's initial crime was sexually assaulting a 14-year old girl in Bellevue, Nebraska. He's been known to use Facebook to seek out new victims and even had a 12-year old boy develop a sexual relationship with young girls. He may also have ties to MS-13. Thoughts? He may have managed to flee to Mexico, although the amw.com website didn't think so at the time he was profiled. Menjivar-Herrera was on AMW's Facebook request episode on Lifetime. Something I always wondered about was the so-called "hot tip" John Walsh claimed from that episode. He made it sound like am imminent capture was about to take place. Part of me wonders if although it's a long shot if it might be this guy.
In any case, he probably fled to Mexico but I wouldn't be surprised if he found manual labor somewhere in the U.S.

Among the possible clues potential tipsters should be aware of after watching him on next week's episode of "The Hunt": -Uses social media as a means to target victims. -Dress and acts much younger than actuality, in order to appeal to younger victims. -Very confident. -May have gang ties--specifically with MS-13. -Works construction. Yeah after watching the episode this guy is even sicker than I already thought. He might be in El Salvador which will make him hard to catch but wherever a viewer may spot this guy, El Salvador, Mexico, or anyone else, I hope they do the right thing and turn him in.

Just saw this post, I think he's in El Salvador IMO, he's the sickest of the sick and it's like he has 9 lives like Fidel Urbina. Also the way he went online to find his victims makes him a different type of predator which is understandable why John Walsh puts him at the top of his personal most wanted list.

Not entirely relating to this case but another fugitive sexual assault suspect escaped from the EXACT SAME prisoner van transport company last night but thankfully was later recaptured. (P.S. This same fugitive escaped twice before- once from a Michigan court toom and another time from Costa Rica after being caught there last month)
I'm beginning to think maybe authorities shouldn't use "Inmate Services Corporation" or better yet we need to better regulate these private inmate transport companies as saving a buck isn't worth the current risk.

With Jose Lazaro Cruz being captured I have fresh hope that Herrera will be caught and extradited from El Salvador which imo he's most likely hiding for those who don't know the El salvadorian authorities there has been a major crackdown on the gangs particularly ms13 wh
With most of the gang members been arrested but not with the same result as the higher leadership but that's irrelevant to this case he may have been still working in the human trafficking group of the ms13 gang and he may have been locked up under an alias or he could still put there
