On Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Nguyen was found dead in his apartment on N. Hotel St. An autopsy later determined that his cause of death was suspicious, and the case was reclassified to second-degree murder. He was last seen alive on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at approximately 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., near the intersection of N. Hotel and River streets. Nguyen’s vehicle, a 2007 silver Toyota Camry bearing Hawaii license plate PDN 585, is missing.
