Crime Stoppers Featured Case #16-16 Homicide
Portland Police Bureau Case #16-254401
The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public’s help to solve an August 2016 homicide.
On Sunday August 7, 2016, at 11:54 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the 2100 block of Northeast 81st Avenue after multiple reports of gunfire.
Officers arrived in the area and found 28-year-old Luccas Demetrius McNeill down in the street next to a vehicle. Medical personnel arrived and determined that McNeill was deceased. The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined that McNeill died of gunshot wounds.
Evidence of gunfire was located at the scene and witnesses described hearing a car speed away after hearing the gunfire.
McNeill was working as a security guard at the time of his death, helping to support his mother and sister. A fund has been established to help support McNeill’s family. Information about the fund may be found by visiting www.gofundme.com/2mpt8ztg
Crime Stoppers of Oregon offers cash rewards for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in any unsolved felony crime and tipsters can remain anonymous.
Information about unsolved homicides can lead to a reward of up to $2,500 cash. All other unsolved felony crimes are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000.
Information learned from social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter or YouTube should be shared as these tips may lead to the identification of a suspect or suspects. Links can be shared anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
