Fugitive Profile as of August 15th, 2014 (Based on FBI.gov poster): Date(s) of Birth Used: March 29, 1975 Place of Birth: California Height: 6'0" to 6'2" Weight: 185 pounds Occupations: Choir Director, Account Executive Hair: Blond Eyes: Blue Sex: Male Race: White Nationality: American Remarks: Giese may have travelled to North Carolina, the Bahama Islands, the Cayman Islands, the United Kingdom, and Norway. Who to call if you've seen him: Local FBI field office or embassy or submit a web tip to tips.fbi.govRoger Giese is wanted by California authorities on child molestation charges. He was aired once on AMW in 2011. In 1998 Giese befriended the family of a 13-year old boy in Buena Park, California by joining a local church. Giese claimed to be a member of an elite-military unit known as the "Delta Force" and told the boy that by providing semen, urine, blood and stool samples to Giese, the boy could join the unit. Giese molested the boy for four years. He was eventually arrested but failed to appear for his pre-trial motions in 2007 and a warrant was then issued. Thoughts? The FBI believes that Giese likely fled the US and mentions the Caribbean, UK and Norway as possible locations. I imagine he's hiding out in one of those areas. www.orangecountyda.com/home/index.asp?page=456www.fbi.gov/wanted/cac/roger-alan-gieseUPDATE: Roger Giese was arrested in the United Kingdom. However, the United Kingdom's High Court refused to extradite Giese back to the U.S. because of civil confinement laws (that those convicted of child sex crimes could still be confined to places like halfway houses even after conviction), stating they did not feel re-assured Giese's rights would not be violated. At the moment, it appears the highest courts have ruled against the U.S. and Giese can not be extradited as long as he stays in the U.K. If you have any information or updates otherwise, feel free to contact the site.

Unfortunately, I think he's likely overseas. And unfortunately he seems to be above average in intelligence. I personally feel he has a shot at making the FBI's top 10 list, where there is a slot open for a child molester thanks to the capture of Walter Lee Williams. Also, much like Giese, Williams was chosen in part because of the list's broad international reach and the belief he may be overseas. Of course, it turned out Williams was in Mexico, which was surprisingly uncreative. I take it Giese is likely in a further location.

I received a message from a forum member claiming Giese has been captured in the United Kingdom and is currently awaiting extradition to the U.S. I thank the member for the information. However, as is site policy, while not trying to say we distrust information and we have no reason to doubt anyone we unfortunately cannot move anyone to the captures section without a news article that confirms apprehension. (For example, the member who told us Carmela Cadena-Sosa was captured was in fact telling us the truth, but I wasn't able to claim that until they produced an article confirming it a month later.). If anyone can confirm Giese has been captured, it would be much appreciated. Right now he is still considered a fugitive as far as this site is concerned but I will gladly accept articles proving otherwise!

I did some research myself and was unable to retrieve an article stating he has be apprehended, sucks because I was really hoping to find one. I really hope he comes to justice what he did was horrible and ruined a life he has to be stopped. This hits close to home for me considering I have 3 teenage boys myself. Let’s all hope we get a really good tip that lead us to him. I work in the community for the last 13 years I see over 100 different faces a day, his face is just one more I’ll keep stored in my memory till he gets caught. AMW/THE HUNT!!!!!!!!!!

It's not a matter of distrust of the source (I have no reason to.) but a matter of needing a media article confirming this so we can officially claim it if true. So as of now Giese is still considered at large and people should still be on the lookout for him because of no articles and not because of distrust of source. With the millions of eyes from AMW, and the many more from this site, Giese will go down one day if he hasn't been taken down already though.

Given that his FBI wanted poster doesn't have a captured stamp on it, I'm reluctant to say he's been captured. Granted, that doesn't mean Giese is still at large (the FBI has been known to be slow with updating their wanted posters) but I'm also unable to find any articles about him. The most recent ones are from 2012, and they all say he's still at large.

Yeah, as I've stressed before, Giese is still considered a fugitive by us until proven otherwise from a legitimate news source or law enforcement website. It doesn't mean the person won't turn out to be right but he has never been considered captured as far as this site as concerned. I only posted the claim just in case anyone was able to find an article.

I received another claim Giese is in Wandsworth prison in England but can't find any searches that would confirm that even with the information he provided. If anyone can it would be a great help. It's apparently a big prison complex with multiple cities. I also can't find any inmate search functions like with U.S. prisons. I think though that even though it may take forever, even if all of us wind up agreeing he was captured, technically because he's still on the FBI's website, I can't move him until the FBI confirms it as well. (and considering the FBI's website admittedly gets more views than us, that's really the site that needs to update he's captured rather than us). Assuming for argument's sake he was arrested you still need to worry about extradition agreements, hearings etc. so you still can't even technically say captured even in a UK prison until he's finally back on U.S. soil. I hope this member doesn't think I don't believe him. The problem is I find this information credible but can't do anything about it unfortunately. Unless the FBI and/or Orange County finally update as well. To the member- we had another person claim someone was captured without a news article and they turned out to eventually be right. So thank you for the information. But unfortunately now, we just have to wait for the FBI so you can say "I told you so" or not.

At least Roger Giese has been confirmed to have been arrested, that's the most important thing. So thank you source!

P.s. U.S. still fighting to have Giese extradited. Have no choice but to move him back to the still at large section while he's free on bail.

Apparently Giese is appealing on the grounds of civil commitment- basically that even after pedophiles have served their prison time, they can be committed in some sort of institution until they're deemed no longer a threat.
England has a problem with this and released one fugitive who was an alleged child molester a few years ago.
So basically Giese is appealing on the grounds of a hypothetical situation where he gets an undeservedly light sentence and then is sent to some sort of halfway house or something afterwards. He should be so lucky if he's given a sentence where he can even get out of prison is he's proven guilty.

The British courts have upheld the stop on extradition, however (hopefully) it appears to be to give the U.S. more time to assure his rights will not be violated. Yep, an underage minor is an alleged victim of Giese's, and the British courts seemed more concerned about GIESE's rights. *sigh* Hopefully the U.S. can re-assure them they'll make sure an alleged pedophile is treated fairly. www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-hampshire-34590347

A Judge has ruled that Giese is to REMAIN in the UK after the UK's High Court REJECTED the U.S.'s assurances that Giese's civil rights would not be violated. US authorities are now being given time to consider challenging the ruling in the UK Supreme Court. OK, I understand Giese is entitled to be presumed innocent until proven guilty but A) HE WENT ON THE RUN B) PEDOPHILIA IS A DISEASE THAT USUALLY IS NOT CURABLE and C) WHAT ABOUT THE ALLEGED VICTIMS RIGHTS? Everything's always about the accused and making sure their rights aren't violated, no one ever cares about victim's rights and making sure their rights aren't violated as well. This is unbelievable but I do hope they appeal to the Supreme Court. This is is unbelievable. This isn't Iran. This is a country that's supposed to be an ALLY that won't send an alleged PEDOPHILE back to us. All we can do know is hope the U.S. appeals and the Supreme Court sees to it that justice is done. With Sean Sullivan and now Roger Giese, it's rather amazing to me why the UK keeps protecting these guys. www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-hampshire-34775444
