On June 17, 1989, Santos Ornelas was working as a security guard at a bar in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He encountered Alvaro Macias and Arturo Solano who were arguing with another bar patron. After escorting Arturo and Alvaro out of the bar, Santos was shot to death. Authorities say that Arturo alone also shot at three other people, including another security guard who Santos saved the life of by taking the bullet meant for her. A local band member and a third security guard were wounded.
In March of 1990, Arturo pleaded to conspiracy to commit second degree murder. Alvaro is still at large from his alleged charges, and his wanted status has been confirmed through the New Mexico public court records page.
Based on crime location, it is advised to contact the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department at (505) 798-7000 if you have any information on Alvaro Maldonado Macias's whereabouts.

Thoughts? Thanks to newspapers.com for having the archived news articles that gave me information to make the case summary. The last entry through the New Mexico public court records page was that a bench warrant for Alvaro was issued in September of 1989. Nothing else about the case going to trial, the warrant being dropped or anything like that, so I can pretty confirm he's still at large. Alvaro would be approximately 59-years of age so he's still young enough to most likely be alive.
