OK. Well I'm reading the Everett comments on Walsh and CNN and for most part I'm pleasantly surprised. Most people are NOT on Megan's side.
However, here's what annoys me- people who just see the headline and then don't read the article and comment just based on the frigging headline.
One person commented about how it was Megan's right if she didn't want her kid vaccinated, bla, bla, and a bunch of people (thankfully) replied back to them "there's a lot more to it than just the vaccination issue if you bothered to read the article."
They replied back: "I'm too busy, I don't have time to read the article." *smh*
So they had time to take five minutes to comment but not to read the article.
No wonder other countries' children are currently getting better educations...

John Walsh just announced the great news of the Megan Everett/Lilly Baumann capture/recovery on Facebook and there's STILL four or five "bring back AMW posts."
THEY DID BRING BACK AMW YOU FRIGGING MORONS! IT'S NOW CALLED THE HUNT!

Ok, maybe this isn't technically social media but I have a friend who liked AMW but doesn't like The Hunt. (to each their own)
They I-m'ed me on Facebook today to tell me they know I'm busy (I once yelled at them for messaging me on a Sunday- I was like you KNOW that's Hunt night LOL), and I can respond whenever they wanted but while they respect John Walsh they don't like the new format and don't think the show suits him.
And I'm thinking first of all- I'm still annoyed you messaged me- even if you know I'm not going to respond LOL. Second of all, why tell someone who you know enjoys something that what you think they enjoy is crap. I don't go to my friend "hey that show you said you liked, I just watched it and sucked." And third of all- if you have a billion dollars to pay off Fox license fees to bring back America's Most Wanted on another network be my guest. The new format is as a result of AMW's cancellation- it's the way things are now and what we have to work with.
Me, personally, I enjoy the expanded format more and more each week. I watch old AMW episodes on YouTube now with the same cases in fewer detail and it doesn't seem the same now with all they left out. Only thing that sucks about the new format is it means less captures- but I think it's working.
It's just frustrating how people can't get past the format and just support The Hunt. It's fine to reminisce about AMW, but it's not coming back. We still have to catch these guys/girls, and be the eyes and ears to get these people off the streets.

OK- I'll make a Facebook rant as well- man the comments are all pretty bad on John Walsh's Facebook post night. We have a racist guy saying Lori Mejia's (Herbert Maldonado's victim) boyfriend is another sign the black race is no good (I agree Lori's boyfriend was a piece of crap- but it has nothing to do with skin color), another few bring back AMW posts, one person complaining the Hunt did stories of a sexual nature for ratings (umm- these stories actually happened and it's to get justice)- and perhaps the most absurd comment was someone complaining about the greedy producers and how there was a commercial every 90 seconds. UMMM- there's a lot of commercials during any network or basic cable show. That has nothing to do with the producers.
Damn, there's usually one or two dumb comments but every idiot came out of the woodworks for John Walsh's Facebook post advertising the show tonight. No wonder he doesn't post as much anymore LOL.

On the National Center For Missing And Exploited Children's Facebook page, they linked an article about Elizabeth Smart recounting her horrific kidnapping and rape story. Most people were very nice, called her brave and said she was an inspiration for other victims.
Someone else said "And boy, has she made money off of it! Elizabeth got old real fast!"
I don't know what is more disrespectful, that comment or the way Nancy Grace infamously treated her.

Same crap John Walsh has to deal with. Both would take back their horrible situations if they could in a heartbeat.
Off-topic (somewhat) but my biggest fear is if John Walsh ever retires from The Hunt and Nancy Grace, being she already works for a CNN-owned network (HLN) replaces him. I honestly have no idea what the heck I'd do.

I'm pretty sure this has been touched on in the past but it's really annoying when the only online coverage of a fugitive case comes from either an anti illegal-immigration website or a white supremacist website. Can you imagine what the victims feel, having their stories ignored in the internet media aside from this forum and websites like the ones mentioned above.

I sometimes scour social media to find AMW/Hunt related info and see a bunch of people posting that the Adam Walsh case has been solved. One person put "finally justice for John Walsh" and another person asked him if his son's case was really just solved. Like it just happened today and not EIGHT years ago.
If you notice, this also happens when people re-share the day a celebrity from a few years ago passed away and people with poor reading comprehension skills thinks the celebrity just died.
So yeah apparently re-solved the case again, but it's still Ottis Toole and not Jeffrey Dahmer. *sigh*

Still seeing people put the Adam Walsh case solved as breaking news on Twitter lol. (This happens when people re-share a news article on social media but those reading don't check the date of the article, the most common occurrence as I mentioned above being when a celebrity dies and they post a story attempting to reflect the anniversary). But at the same time, I think I'm not really annoyed about this after all. I think it is cool to be reminded that although it took 27 years, it's never a bad thing to be reminded that John Walsh finally and eventually did get justice after all he did for everyone else, even if some people didn't know it actually happened eight years ago.

I really don't care if this is potentially read but if one person writes "bring AMW back!" on my AMW Facebook fan page I'm going to go bash my head in.

Thanks to the person that let us know Patrick John Donovan was captured! We had a captured circled around his profile and moved him to the captures section and commented on his capture, but it's always nice to have confirmation just in case we didn't know already.

The FBI added Philip Policarpio and Luis Macedo to its top 10 list and someone on the FBI's Facebook page asked why do Latinos have an unrivaled reputation for violent crime.
Someone should tell that guy Policarpio is Filipino and not Latino. (Most Filipino's aren't violent either, but at least get your ignorant stereotypes right).

The only reasons I think anyone would get the illusion that Latinos "have the market cornered" on violent crime are because:
*Though there are more cases of white suspects, they (and black suspects) rarely have a distant or less cooperative nation to fall back on, so they get caught quickly.
*Though Asian suspects often have countries to flee to that are further away than Latin America, there are relatively few of them.
*I admit my year-end leftover fugitives may be saturated with Latino suspects, but it's because they're harder to catch if they've fled south of the border, even though they have fewer fugitive cases than white suspects.

I was getting so many messages by people thinking my "Hunt with John Walsh Fans" page was really John Walsh that I changed the name to add "unofficial" to stress we're unofficial. (Not to bash anyone else but many fan pages- Hunt or other shows- don't even have the courtesy to do that.) I'm still getting messages and posts left and right by people thinking my page is John Walsh. *sigh*

I like the page on Facebook, but I have to say there are people that believe it's actually John Walsh lol, but 3 of the posts on the page I found interesting only 1 managed to actually seem powerful and touching.
examples:
John Walsh I love your new show. I hope all of these people get caught. You are doing a tremendous job.
keep a look out for this Car & this Man in Saskatchwan Or Alberta Canada or even in the US he has been targeting young under age girls on the Highway in Canada or the US maybe ?
that post in a way was odd^
I just want to say Thank you for doing this show. It brings back all the terrible things people have done and allows there to be a chance at catching these horrible criminals. John Walsh, I'm so sorry about the loss of your son. I remember when that happened. My heart goes out to you and to all those who have been victims.
That one was very powerful ^^
