Just wanted to mention something. Now that The Hunt will be airing on CNN soon, you may want to edit the thread title to include "cnn.com comments", if there's enough space of course. After all, we're going to see a bunch of really dumb comments on cnn.com regarding The Hunt.

I changed it to "Social Media" to be more broad. Oh, and I have a new complaint. People who complain that John Walsh and shows like AMW "do the police's job for them." Part of police work is earning the trust of the community and depending on them to report crimes and criminals. Even before AMW there were newspapers and post offices with wanted posters. Even back in the old times of the wild west. Community involvement has always been a part of police work. You can be the greatest Police Department in the world, If some guy is hiding out in some needle in the haystack or in some small village in another country, a tip may be the only thing that can reel him. That's why show's like AMW are important. Tipsters may help locate a fugitive, but it IS the police who arrests them and I'm tired of people who don't respect that.

I won't mention the member but someone who commented on the CNN Youtube video regarding The Hunt promo, wanted to know why John Walsh quit AMW.
Seriously, Lifetime had to officially cancel AMW last year (and we all know why), and people still don't know why?

Someone just posted another comment that always drives me insane. This person criticized John Walsh for getting rich off Adam's murder.
Okay, I'm aware that John Walsh is a wealthy TV show host, and yes it is technically a result of Adam's murder. The fact that Walsh turned his tragedy into the creation of the National Center For Missing & Exploited Children, America's Most Wanted and now The Hunt and has both saved countless lives and given justice for so many families, that comment and others like it is uncalled for!

^ What's ironic about that statement is that it's really not clear how much money John Walsh actually has. Could he be rich? Yes, but there's also a distinct possibility that he isn't. I know he was doing somewhat well-off financially before Adam was even born because of his job in hotel management. So even if he is wealthy, it can be traced back to his old career.

There are some people who think AMW is still on Fox!

I've mentioned this before as hating those comments as well. John Walsh has said time and time again, that he would trade all his fame and everything else if it would mean having Adam back. It's ok to disagree with Walsh's opinions (I have) but still respect the man. I think, perhaps because this AARP so the commenters are older and more mature, this is a great example below. Walsh makes the same statements on gun control he made this week in the article and a commenter disagrees with him but still talks about how they respect him and the work he's done. So yeah, I have no problem with someone disagreeing with Walsh's opinion. People on both sides of the gun control debate have valid points. But when they attack him and disrespect all the good things he's done while disagreeing, I do. www.aarp.org/entertainment/television/info-08-2013/john-walsh-americas-most-wanted.html

The comments are getting more ridiculous. Now I'm worried that potential viewership of The Hunt is going to suffer because of these articles. Examples follow.
John Walsh has made a career of his son, Adam being murdered in the summer of’ '81. His son's murder was a terrible thing but his making a career from it is disgusting. CNN & HLN should team him with Nancy Grace and call the show “The two most disgusting people on cable TV”.
I really have no respect for Nancy Grace although her show did lead the safe return of a missing child recently, Walsh is in no way anywhere near as personality bad as she is.
Lost all respect for this guy. Used to like him on AMW. Turns out he's a big ole lib or is being paid to purport one.
So apparently John Walsh is not allowed to have a political opinion that some may agree with, interesting. And this would be the same if liberals were complaining about him having conservative viewpoints.
How about Walsh do a show about how many Americans are killed by illegals in our county? You could start with 9-11 and go forward from there.
This poster should realize that AMW did air plenty of illegal immigrants turned US fugitives (ex. Fidel Urbina, Adrian Cruz)
If he wants to track violence in America, maybe he should broadcast live from Chicago one Saturday night.
AMW did plenty of episodes right from Chicago.

These comments are bound to happen if the article discusses his stance on gun control. Hopefully if there's a Facebook post saying "catch Shane Miller" there will be less of those although sadly I can't say for sure.

I'll just add that for those who want to see stupid the hunt comments, wait till the stories get on the main page of cnn.com.

I just read somebody complain on John Walsh's page "Needs to be on Netflix. I don't have cable." Now I completely sympathize with that but are we really going to have to explain the same thing that had to be explained when AMW was picked up by Lifetime. If Fox had never cancelled AMW, then this new show probably wouldn't be debuting on cable tonight. We will soon find out if that turned out to be a blessing in disguise!

Although hopefully CNN/The Hunt can find a way to put the show on Netflix after the season like other cable channels do with their shows! That's even more eyes!

I realize this happens a lot on news story comments but I'm especially annoyed of it happening on the The Hunt trailer video on CNN's Facebook page. People, the conflict regarding Israel has got nothing to with John Walsh's new show, it's an important issue and all but completely off topic on something regarding The Hunt. Edit: 1500th post!

Speaking of off-topic, I got my 3,000th post earlier in the day!
