On May 24, 1981, Astolfo Ornelas allegedly stabbed New Mexico law student Anthony Carbajal to death. Anthony was visiting Astolfo's ex-wife's home at the time of the stabbing. According to Newspapers.com, Astolfo pled innocent in July of 1981, but a bench warrant was issued for his arrest in 1982. Astolfo is from El Paso, Texas and in the early 1980s, had businesses in El Paso and across the border in Mexico.
Based on crime location, it is advised to contact the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department at (505) 798-7000 if you have any information on Astolfo Perez Ornelas's whereabouts.

Thoughts? I learned about Astolfo Perez Ornelas's case through an archived 2001 most wanted website and through an archived newspaper article. I did recently find the New Mexico case lookup page where I confirmed that no major developments have occurred in Astolfo's case since the 1980s, so there's no arrest nor has the warrant been discontinued, so it looks like Astolfo is still at large. Astolfo was 37 on July 13, 1981 so he would be around 73 years of age today. It's quite possible that he's still alive and if so, he needs to be arrested to face a court of law in connection with Anthony Carbajal's murder.
