--Thoughts? Another cold case fugitive that I feel would have been a good story for AMW to have aired back in the 1990s. There's no guarantee that Francisco is still in Jalisco rather than another part of Mexico by now. Capturing him won't be easy but fugitives on the run for longer periods of time have been caught recently. web.archive.org/web/20170624124955/http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/government/city-departments/police/cold-casespatch.com/california/scottsvalley/fugitive-friday-cold-case-edition-3

Found a 1994 article from Newspapers.com that mentions this case. In it they mention that Barbara Prowdley and Rogelio Conejo were hacked to death with a "razor sharp brush hook". Just to give an idea as to how brutal and violent this double homicide was.
Also as of today, August 12, 2019, the Santa Cruz County Warrants Search still displays the active felony warrant for Francisco Amador Varela's arrest. Therefore, he's still at large.
