Emmanuel Vanderhorst is a wanted alleged quadruple murder suspect in St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. He made John Walsh's #3 Most Wanted fugitive of 2009. He is still on AMW.COM althoh I found the full description profile on another site:
Virgin Islands Police Hunt Suspect In Quadruple Homicide When they heard a woman being beaten, they rushed to her rescue. Three people were killed immediately in the firestorm that followed, and another later succumbed to his injuries. Police now believe that one of the suspects, Emmanuel Polanco Vanderhorst, escaped to the continental United States.
Cops Say Polanco Killed Four, Then Fled To The U.S.
Away from the tourist resorts, Reynold Isidore enjoys pouring drinks in his bar on St. Thomas, the Banana Split, a roadside stop with a tin roof, in a mixed industrial-residential area. “We’re good guys,” Isidore said of his clientele. “We’re cool. We don’t fight. We don’t curse each other. We have fun. I’ve never known any of them guys to have any trouble.” “Them guys” are the four friends he lost on June 17, 2006, when two gunmen walked up the ramp into the tiny barroom, and began picking customers off the bar stools. Reynold managed to escape, but the incident plays over and over in his mind. “Every time I have to go to bed, I think about this,” he told AMW. “It’s hurting me to see my friends gone. Life has never been the same. I’m just praying to God for help that one day we’re going to get these killers off the street.” AMW host John Walsh recently visited the Banana Split, and met with Reynold and the detective investigating the case. When Walsh left, the crew remained behind, toasting the victims, including Reynold’s cousin, Eustace Edgar. As Reynold’s eyes turned misty, we promised to return, to toast the arrest of suspect Emmanuel Polanco Vanderhorst."
Police say the various islands are "borderless" because it's so easy to come and go by boat.
Victims Shot "Like Ducks In A Barrel"
fugitives,Emmanuel Vanderhorst | John Walsh met with Raynald in St Thomas with the promise that he d help him find justice for the loss of loved ones Emmanuel Vanderhorst overview

John Walsh met with Raynald in St. Thomas with the promise that he'd help him find justice for the loss of loved ones.
It was the night before Father’s Day, and the mood inside the bar was festive. Suddenly, the patrons -- including Eustace, as well as Trevor Lewis, Zachaus Williams and Lennox Weekes -- heard a woman crying for help. When the men rushed outside, police say, they encountered Polanco, a.k.a. “Manny,” a native of the Dominican Republic, and his friend Enos Hughes. Hughes was allegedly beating his girlfriend.
Confusion followed. The woman allegedly grabbed onto Raynald.
“Just relax,” he claims to have told the victim. “We won’t let him do anything to you.”
Heated words were exchanged. Hughes and Polanco allegedly told the crowd from the Banana Split to mind their business. Police say a beer bottle was wielded, then mace. Police say that the woman knocked the mace out of the user’s hand. As a result, both Polanco and Hughes were apparently hit with the mist.
At this point, Raynald said, the woman told her rescuers to leave, as she led Polanco and Hughes away. The crowd returned to the bar, where they discussed the incident.
“No one could understand why she left with him,” Raynald said.
But in the midst of the conversation, police say, Polanco and Hughes came into the Banana Split, guns in hand. Allegedly, they ignored the female customers, and opened fire on the males -- blasting one after the other.
U.S. Virgin Islands Det. Warrington Tyson, Jr. told AMW, “They were shooting these guys like ducks in a barrel.”
Raynald ran out the back door, into a field littered with debris. His cousin, Eustace, was apparently next to him, blood seeping from a chest wound. The two ran in opposite directions and hid until Raynald heard the gunshots stop.
“I heard my girlfriend in the bar,” he said. “She was crying and calling out my name. I went back inside. There were bullet holes all over. Lord have mercy, I couldn’t believe what I saw.”
According to police, Trevor and Lennox were dead. Raynald’s girlfriend placed a pillow under Zachaus’ head. Authorities say he was paralyzed, and died later on.
“I noticed my cousin was missing,” Raynald said. “I went to the back of the building to look for him. I called his name, and there was no answer. I found laying in a bush with a bullet in his chest. His eyeballs were white. I couldn’t do anything to save him.
“All we wanted to do was help a woman. I’m not a trouble guy. I thought I was dreaming.”
Escape From Paradise
Police picked up Enos Hughes a week after the incident. “He gave up Emmanuel Polanco Vanderhorst as the individual who did the shooting,” Det. Tyson said. “We’ve been been trying to apprehend him ever since.
“The word is that he took a boat to Puerto Rico, then caught a plane to New York,” Tyson said.
Sadly, this pattern of escape is all too common in the Caribbean. Police say the various islands are “borderless” because it’s so easy to come and go by boat.
Therefore, authorities contend, a suspect in a U.S. territory can flee to a British, French or Dutch-run island, or the continental United States, blending into a Caribbean, or in Polanco’s case, the Dominican community.
“A lot of people think of criminals fleeing to the islands,” Tyson said. “Over here, we have too many criminals fleeing to the mainland
Thoughts? Interestingly enough, had it been known at the time Beacher Hackney was dead, Vanderhorst probably would have been the runner-up to Chuy Canales on John Walsh's 2009 top 10 list. Yet for some reason, I feel he's kind of an underrated fugitive. I understand he's not wanted in one of the 50 states which perhaps lowers the "interest" on him but the Virgin Islands are a U.S. territory.
Vanderhorst was born in the Dominican Republic, obviously has lived in the Virgin Islands, and New York is also listed as a possible hideout. IMO, in NYC, he would easily blend in.

UPDATE: It has now been five years and I could find no new articles online about the manhunt for Vanderhorst since we made out original posting. As far as I can tell, Vanderhorst is still at large as of this update (7/21/2018) since I have found nothing online suggesting otherwise. However, if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are more than welcome to let us know.
