Even though AMW has done countless female-fugitive centric episodes, let's admit that violent criminals are more likely to be male than female. I've been curious as to why this is for the past little while and wanted to hear the insight of my fellow forum members.

I'm not sure the reason and my best guess has to do with childhood and the way men are brought up. Its not that parents neglect their sons but there does seem to be more of a focus on protecting girls, coddling and caring for them. And it seems boys might be a little more expected to be independent and might not get the right amount of love and attention growing up. Not sure if there's a correlation, but growing up boys tend to seem to like violent things- video games movies etc. They play cops and robbers while girls play with dolls.
This is just a possible theory and not one I necessarily believe but yeah I would agree men tend to be more violent.

It also doesn't help that the role-models in the media for boys and young men have mainly been reduced to Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin. EDIT: Anyone besides me wish people would explore this angle of why people commit crimes instead of the idiotic; White, Black, Latino debate.

Well I do have to admit I enjoy the Simpsons and Family Guy (as much as it pained me to still enjoy them after fox cancelled amw). But yeah Peter Griffin and Homer Simpsons are cartoon characters and shouldn't be looked at as role models.

And yeah this is a better angle than the usual race-baiting topic.
