Tomorrow on January 16th, it'll be my 1 year anniversary since I joined the AMWfans forum 😊. My first year has truly been the most wonderful experience. Now I'm bringing this up because I'm going to do sorta a semi-revelation here on the site tomorrow, I guess you could say (no it's not a case, I'm sorta revealing). Happy sleuthaversary. Just some friendly advice that I wouldn't be too personal if it's what you're planning to reveal. It's my general advice that forum members should generally try to not give out their real name (unless they're related to a victim in a case) or reveal too much about themselves on a public crime forum. I say I live in NYC for example since it's a big enough city who cares but I wouldn't go further than that.

(I won't reveal my actual name or anything personal), I'm keeping the anonymity of course, just stretching it further is all.

Okay so I've updated my profile in preparation for my 1 year anniversary. The reveal is my avatar photo of me in a parking lot, which I got my brother to take today, hiding my face in order to take the anonymity to another level.
Also reflecting on my first year, I've come across some familiar cases, and some new cases, but one unsolved case that stood out to me in particular during this journey, is the brutal unsolved murder of Alexandra (Alex) Anaya
I've designated Alex Anaya as my Highest Priority Case because of her young age and the brutality of the crime. I'm pretty sure Scumhunter has seen my post on her thread, about how hard it was to read her case press release without shedding a tear back on September 1, 2016. A beautiful young, 13 year old girl being taken in that fashion, I can't describe it in words, only by emotions.
I know I'm making a huge deal out my first year lol, but my sleuthaversary isn't going to be about me, it's about my fellow members of the site, and most importantly it's about Alex Anaya and my personal mission to seek justice for her.
John Walsh had a lot of courage to fight back and start America's Most Wanted in 1988, he had even more courage to start The Hunt in 2014. Scumhunter has a lot of courage for starting AMWfans 4 years ago and everyone else on here has a lot of courage because we all are willing to fit back against the evils of society, and it's something we all should hang on to, and we give a voice to those who can no longer speak, or a voice to those who feel like their lost loved ones have been forgotten.

Ugh, anyone else hate the winter? I swear I keep hoping one day there will be some sort of great job opportunity that forces me to move to California LOL. (AMW come back and make me a west coast correspondent!) I'm sick again (so if I'm not as responsive, my apologies). Plus I had a death in the family recently. So yeah this year is off to a crappy start already.

Aww my condolences Scumhunter, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, your a wonderful admin and I hope the tide starts turning for you in 2017 for the better. Honestly this winter sucks only because of the lack of snowfall, but trust me you'll get that great opportunity you've been waiting for which forces you to move to California when you least expect it. (I'm on the same boat too since right now I'd rather be in Pennsylvania than dealing with the DMV drama of traffic and the inauguration LOL)

Okay so today in my Sociology class we did video presentations on society roles and my friends teamed up in one group, while I was working alone.
So their presentation was about marriage and they had stick figures with my face on one of them and on the other was the face of none other than Jodi Arias.
Since they know I'm a huge sleuther, they decided to make that their joke, and my reaction..... well I blurted it out "oh f**k off" and I laughed, until the teacher told me to get out and come back in 5.
My friends Jodi Arias is an awful human being, the words that represent her is deceit, Murder and gross, she committed the worse crime imaginable and is paying for heavy, by thinking about what she did in a cell.

This is sort of off-topic but has anyone noticed Bay Area Crime Stoppers seems to no longer exist? I guess everything is lumped into Northern California Most Wanted now.

I agree with that, at one point San Francisco had it's own most wanted list but now they just reference readers to Northern California's Most Wanted. Has anyone ever looked at the New York State Police's Warrant Wednesday on their facebook page? While all fugitives should be considered dangerous of course, I notice a lot of fugitives wanted for offenses like driving while intoxicated or possession of a controlled substance get profiled on there. New York has a ton of serious fugitives across the state so hopefully they'll profile some really dangerous people soon as well (I can't remember the last time they profiled someone for murder as an example).

Agreed and also somewhat off-topic but I understand not wanting to give too much away but it really frustrates me how so many of these Wanted or Crime Stoppers websites go into detail for minor offenses while other agencies have guys wanted for murder with no other information whatsoever.

Just wanted to alert everyone that three people were arrested in a 1993 Los Angeles apartment fire that left seven children, and three women dead, two of whom were pregnant. 12 counts of capital murder were issued against Ramiro Valerio, Joseph Monge, 41, and Johanna Lopez, 51. Aside from the three that were arrested, a fourth suspect was identified as a fugitive, believed to have fled the US. That fugitive remains unidentified but I'll a watch on google news to see if the name gets released. ktla.com/2017/02/06/lapd-to-release-details-of-arrests-made-in-1993-westlake-fire-that-killed-10-people/

To somewhat add to hm's point about NY not listing more violent fugitives, NJ.com has a well detailed article about a fugitive of the week which is a woman wanted for SHOPLIFTING. www.nj.com/hunterdon/index.ssf/2017/02/nj_woman_indicted_for_shoplifting_is_fugitive_of_t.htmlNot condoning her alleged crimes, but once again in my ongoing rant about NJ and lack of coverage fugitives and how they gave me a hard time when I tried to get information, we have murder and rape suspects with no detail whatsoever to be found on the net, but five paragraphs on a woman wanted for shoplifting. *sigh*

I've come up with a hypothetical manhunt case, and I'm wondering if it could ever happen. If it aired on a revived America's Most Wanted, it would be among the most bizarre in the show's history. Here's the relevant excerpt from the chain of events:
A criminal or group threatens to murder or otherwise hurt a victim unless (s)he meets their demands. A rival criminal or group finds out about the threats, and sends harm threats to the same victim, demanding (s)he do the exact opposite of the first threat.
If a crime with a case description involving that "plot element" for lack of a better word ever happens, how could it affect us? If it became a high profile crime with a series of supertrials (trial with inordinate media coverage and public obsession) planned for when the suspects are all captured, how might it influence social media?

While I know we've seen our share of bizarre crime stories and anything can happen, this sounds to me more like a good plot line for Law & Order or one of those types of shows as opposed to a scenario that can realistically make its way onto AMW. I just can't see this happening in real life but in a TV show I imagine they would have both cases prosecuted. I think the public would in general support everyone being prosecuted. Both gangs would be in the wrong so I don't see how it could cause a controversy. Unless the girl had to commit a crime herself on one or both groups behalf.

Anyone watching SNL lately? Looking forward to see how they can out-parody that Donald Trump press conference. At the very least, Trump has made SNL great again!
