We had a topic like this on the old forums, so I decided to resurrect it here for further discussion.
With a show like AMW, it's not surprising that investigators will appear on the show for different cases they're following. Typically it's an investigator who has seen success with one of their old cases and they want to see if they can repeat the magic (case in point; in one of John Walsh's books, he mentioned one detective who had appeared on AMW for FOUR different cases over the years).
Here's a couple investigators I can think of who have been featured on AMW multiple times for different cases:
Glenn Bukata (Broward Co. Sheriff's Office) - The only investigator off the top of my head who has come to AMW for more than two cases. I first saw him featured in 2004, where he was the detective that cracked the case that led to Damar Pink's capture. Months later, he was interviewed as the lead investigator in the Jean-Marie Jean-Francois case. Then a couple years after that, he was featured on AMW's 1,000th capture special (kind of appropriate, given his history with AMW) where he was investigating the Devon Russell & Henry Pierre case.
Scott Dudek (Alameda Co. Sheriff's Office) - In 2003, Dudek was interviewed on AMW regarding the unsolved murder of Robert Ratto, which AMW solved without ever appearing on the show. He later came to the show again in 2007 for the case of the Castro Valley Jane Doe, who at that time had been identified as Yesenia Nungaray, and her alleged killer, Miguel Nunez-Castaneda.
Tom Monahan (Las Vegas Metro PD) - One of the first investigators I personally saw on AMW, Monahan brought the Timmy John Weber case to the show. A tip to AMW led to Weber's arrest almost a month after he went on the run. Two years later, Monahan reappeared as the lead investigator on the unsolved kidnapping and murder of children's fashion designer Carol Miller. She had been taken from the gated community where she lived and was found dead at an illegal dump site miles away. That case, as far as I know, is still unsolved. Monahan has also appeared on COPS; back in the early seasons, he went undercover as a john during a Las Vegas prostitution sting. I saw him interviewed on a "behind-the-scenes" show where he said people still recognize him from that segment today.
Phil Ramos (Las Vegas Metro PD) - The first time I saw Ramos on AMW was during the Las Vegas Backyard Body mystery, where AMW was trying to identify a man who was buried in the backyard of a Las Vegas blackjack dealer. Years later, I learned he was the lead detective on the Margaret Rudin case and had apparently been featured on AMW several times in connection with that case.
Jimmy Vaccarro (Las Vegas Metro PD) - Vaccarro was the lead investigator on the Manuel Tarango case, and was interviewed extensively about the fugitive's capture in 2004. He was also featured during the Ronald Lennon case, where he discussed how investigators were able to charge him with murder based on all the clues.
Vince Velazquez (Atlanta PD) - The only detective I'm aware of who has been featured on AMW for two cases, neither of which was solved. The first time was in 2006 to help find a child rapist who had been linked to the murder of a teenager in 1992 through DNA. On one of AMW's last shows, he also appeared to find clues in the unsolved murder of Officer Alfred Johnson. There's a clip on YouTube (on AMW's channel) that features Angeline Hartmann interviewing him.
And while not investigators, fugitive task force members including Kurt Hibbets (Texas), Manny Puri (New York), Ed Farrell and John Ambrose (Illinois) and Abby Tiger (Florida) have all appeared multiple times on the show helping to catch all kinds of AMW fugitives. Puri was even nominated for the AMW All-Star Award in 2007.
I've got a few others in mind, but I figured this would be a good start for now.
