Photo on the right is a sketch of the suspect -- On January 12, 2003, Burke O'Brien was shot in the chest during a robbery in New York City's Manhattan borough. Burke later died from his injuries. Suspicion fell on his friend Forrest Bloede who called 911 after Burke was shot. The NYPD questioned Forrest and tried to get him to confess, thinking he was the killer. One detective, Ken Silvia however had his doubts and those were confirmed when the charges were dropped. Afterwards, Forrest helped the NYPD create the sketch of Burke's killer. That killer remains unidentified to this day. Based on investigating agencies, it is advised to send a tip to New York Police Crimestoppers at a056-crimestoppers.nyc.gov/crimestoppers/public/tip-form.cfm if you have any information on Burke O'Brien's murder.

As far as the real killer, it's a decent sketch, albeit from 14 years ago. This is going to be a difficult case to solve since it appears a random robbery, and cases where the victim aren't known to the perpetrator are always hard to solve, but hopefully against all odds it will be. |
