(Above photo credit: nj.com) From nj.com: MONROE TWP. — For several years after her body was found in her mobile home, Lockey Mitten’s loved ones held candlelight vigils in her memory. The 65-year-old was stabbed to death in her Colonial Park home July 28, 2007. Since then, those who knew her “have moved on or moved away” from the area where she was killed, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office said. Even the Black Horse Pike billboard offering a reward for information on the killing is now gone. But investigators are still seeking whoever murdered Mitten. The Prosecutor’s Office and Monroe Township police “know someone has information that can lead to her murderer,” said Prosecutor's Office spokesman Bernie Weisenfeld. “To whoever slashed her throat for reasons having nothing to do with theft and who did not enter her Colonial Park home forcibly.” The reward for information leading to a conviction in the case was doubled to $10,000 in 2011. Anyone with information is asked to contact Prosecutor’s Office Sgt. Robert Hemphill at 856-384-5602 or Monroe Police Detective Greg Wolfe at 856-728-0800.
