On Aug 04, 2012, four members of an Asian street gang broke into the Wichita, Kansas home of Pheng Xiong. Pheng was restrained and held down by his legs before Caesar Louis slashed his throat, killing Pheng and nearly decapitating him. Several days later, one of the gang members, Vat Khamvongsa came forward and told authorities exactly what happened that night. As a result Vat agreed to testify for the prosecution and got a 10 year sentence in return. Caesar Louis along with Jerry Thach were both arrested and convicted as well for Pheng's murder. The last suspect in this case, Rathanak Chea has yet to be arrested and is still a fugitive.

Thoughts? According to the article, Pheng was born in a Thailand refugee camp before him and his family came to the United States. There's no telling how horrible their life in Thailand was, and that's before they lost Pheng in such a graphic and brutal murder.
