 (Above photo credit: Florida Highway Patrol Most Wanted website) Fugitive Profile as of March 29th, 2017: (Based on Florida wanted persons public search) Date of Birth: 09/23/1977 Race: WHITE Sex: MALE Height: 5' 09" Weight: 223 Hair Color: BLACK Eye Color: BROWN From the Florida Highway Patrol Most Wanted website: Wanted: Luis Perez-Amezcua FHP Case #: FHPC05OFF100055 THI Case # 705-03-062 County: Hillsborough Investigator: Corporal Toni Shields Luis Perez-Amezcua was west bound on I-4 near US 41, operating his 2003 GMC pickup truck. Perez-Amezcua failed to slow down behind other west bound traffic and collided with a 1998 Pontiac sedan. A 6 year old passenger in the Pontiac suffered fatal injuries at a nearby hospital. Shortly after the scene was cleared, FHP Troopers placed Perez-Amezcua under arrest for Driving While License Suspended that resulted in death. Perez-Amezcua failed to appear in Hillsborough County Court on November 6, 2006 for sentencing.

I no longer see Perez-Amezcua on the Florida Highway Patrol most wanted website. A warrant can be found in Florida's public warrants search website but only for "traffic offenses." So I am currently no longer sure if Perez-Amezcua is still at large as of this update. (6/15/2018).
If anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, please feel free to let us know.

There is still an active warrant for Luis Perez-Amezcua in the Hillsborough County Warrants Directory. The charge is listed as the abbreviated term for what I interpret as "Driving Without A License Resulting In Death Or Injury". Based on that, I'm concluding that Luis is still at large as of today, May 25, 2021. webapps.hcso.tampa.fl.us/WarrantInquiry/Also based on the link I posted in 2017, the name of the victim in this case is Nicole Stone. As of today, August 19, 2023, Luis's warrant for "traffic offenses" is still active in Florida's statewide warrants search. We know from other cases that the FDLE database sometimes says “traffic offenses” for vehicular related homicides.
