(Above photo credit: nola.com via New Orleans Police Department) From nola.com: A 49-year-old man is wanted in the case of an infant who was found dead early Thursday (March 23) after receiving "severe bodily harm," New Orleans police said. Police are looking for Jeffery Edward Coleman, who when arrested will be booked with second-degree murder, a NOPD news release said. Officers were called shortly after midnight Thursday to Coleman's Gentilly home in the 4700 block of Lafaye Street, where they found the 17-day-old boy dead. Coleman told investigators the boy had fallen from a sofa, the release said. Later Thursday, following an autopsy, the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office classified the child's death as a homicide. Anyone with information about Coleman's whereabouts should call child abuse detectives at 504-658-5267 or CrimeStoppers at 507-822-1111.www.nola.com/crime/index.ssf/2017/03/man_wanted_by_nopd_in_death_of.htmlThoughts? Adding this as a breaking news case. As far Mr. Coleman, he has his claim that the boy fell from the sofa, but he's not doing himself any favors by going on the run.
