Reward:
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the identification of the subject(s) responsible for Morin's death and/or for information leading to the recovery of a weapon believed to have been utilized, which is a Marlin .22 caliber lever action rifle described below.
Details:
Fifty-year-old Kim Morin was last seen in the Fort Washakie area on the morning of July 27, 2007. Morin planned to travel to Lander, Wyoming, with his friend's son that day but there is no indication he ever arrived there. Morin and the son were traveling in a 1993 Ford single-cab pickup truck, blue with a wide white stripe on each side, bearing Fremont County, Wyoming, license plates. Morin's remains were found in a remote area approximately eight miles north of Fort Washakie on October 9, 2007.
Law enforcement is also looking for a firearm believed to have been utilized during this incident. The firearm is a Marlin .22 caliber lever action rifle, model 39TDS, serial number 10253800, possibly with a United States Army serial number etched into the stock or receiver.
The Lander Office of the FBI is investigating Morin's case along with the Bureau of Indian Affairs/Wind River Police Department and the Fremont County Coroner's Office.
