Right after this arson happened, local Milwaukee media interviewed the owner of the gas station, Pakhar Singh on how he lost his entire business and the Sherman Park neighbourhood suffered from several different arson attacks during the riots. Recently, Pakhar has submitted to rebuild the gas station which I hope succeeds for him. I understand that these riots were due to the protests on police brutality against African-Americans. There's a difference between peaceful protests and those who take advantage of the situations to commit acts of criminal activity. I would agree that you have the right to protest but not to break the law. |
