I never like saying celebrating someone's death, but I can't say I'm too heartbroken that Shaw is now deceased and unable to harm another child again either.

Pretty wild end to the case though.

Wow! Have followed this case for a while and didn’t expect a capture any time soon.

An interesting tidbit of information...... Victoria (or Jennifer as I know her) has been cleaning my house for the past 3 years. She actually cleaned my house Monday. She has cleaned houses for multiple people in the area since the early 2000's.
Needless to say, this whole revelation is completely shocking to our community. I don't mind answering questions or going into more detail about their lives over the past 18 years.

Hello deltaresident,
Thank you so much for posting here and it's not often we get comments from someone who lived in the community of a major fugitive(s) capture!
Yes, I know so many times whenever a fugitive is caught, it is often a complete shock to the community they were in. I'm sure she probably didn't do anything to cause residents to be on a radar, and likely seemed normal, and that is likely how her and Leon were able to hide so many years.
I guess my main question and worry is about whether her and Leon were often around children during their time on the run. I hope the FBI looks into it, or residents let the FBI know, if so.

I am not aware of them being around children at any point. They were very low key, and stayed close to home. Friends of mine, who she also cleaned for, asked her to babysit once, and she declined, thankfully.
Victoria/Jennifer, was very quiet and soft spoken. I did not know Leon/Bruce, so I cannot comment on him, but my family members said he was a nice guy. Those, who knew them, in the community thought they were odd or something was amiss, but we simply chalked it up to weird hippy transplants from Oregon, considering how culturally different Mississippi and Oregon are.
Victoria may be a master manipulator, but she also may have turned her life around. She was very kind to us and others and was a very strong animal lover. When my 5 year old daughter's cat died, she seemed to be genuinely upset.
She shared self-help and marriage strengthening books with my wife and other younger ladies who she knew; these were books that she read and seemed to impact her. It's hard to believe that was an act, considering how unnecessary it was in the scheme of concealing her true identity or selling her false identity.
After Leon died, my wife and I got a sympathy card for Victoria and left it, with some money inside, for her when she cleaned our house, two days before her arrest. My wife still has the voicemail on her phone from Victoria, sobbing, thanking and praising our gift to her.
Justice will be served to her, but I'd like to believe she recognized the horror of her past and voluntarily chose to not be that person any longer. Or perhaps I'm naive and my desire to believe these things is how I bridge the gap between her two identities.
