Photo Credits: Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office Alias: GOMES, MARTINES MISAEL Wanted for: Charge Reason :MURDER, Charge Degree: 1ST DOB: 07/03/1977 Race: CAUCASIAN/HISPANIC Gender: MALE Height: 5'06" Weight (lbs.): 140 lbs Eye color: BROWN Hair color: BROWN Marks Type:TATTOO, Body Marks Description: HEART W/ DAGGER, Body Position: ART CHEST, Style : LEFT CHEST, -- On April 18, 2000, the body of 66-year old Robert Ames was found in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He had been strangled to death with an electrical cord. According to Newslibrary archives, items at the scene and statements from witnesses identified Misael Martinez as a suspect in Robert's murder. Robert had actually met Misael's family 20 years earlier while traveling throughout Mexico. Misael fled after Robert's murder, his last known occupation was working for an internet grocer in the area. Based on investigating agencies, it is advised to contact the Middlesex County's Prosecutor's Office at (732) 745-3300 if you have any information on Misael Martinez's whereabouts.

-- Thoughts? One very useful clue in locating Misael is going to be the heart with a dagger tattoo on the left side of his chest. He may still be hiding out in Mexico if he initially fled south of the border. The 2008 article I found through Newslibrary indicated that local authorities didn't have much in the way of leads on his exact location unfortunately.

I am curious to know what exactly Martinez's connection was to Ames, such as if he worked for him etc... there seems to be a lack of details as far as possible motives in this case.

It does not look like the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office has a most wanted page anymore. There was also no UFAP warrant found for Misael Martinez in PACER's records for the District of New Jersey.
I'm assuming that as of today, December 1, 2020, that Misael Martinez is still at large with no news updates to indicate otherwise. As always, any evidence suggesting otherwise can be sent to us through our website contact form.
