From the York (Pennsylvania) Daily Record website:
It’s been six months since Eugene Brabham was shot and killed in York city, and his family wants answers.
Angelica Fickling said she’s offering a $1,500 reward to anyone with information about her cousin’s murder, which remains unsolved.
“I never imagined my cousin Eugene Brabham would pass away through such violence,” Fickling said.
Brabham was shot twice and killed in the early morning of Aug. 6 outside a building in the 200 block of South Pine Street.
York City Police believe the 36-year-old was engaged in a dispute and robbed prior to his death, Lt. Troy Bankert said. The motive for the shooting is still unclear, Bankert said.
“We had very few leads in the beginning, and it hasn’t increased since,” Bankert said.
Police have spoken to witnesses, but have received little to no cooperation from anyone who might have information, he said.
The investigation is ongoing.
Fickling said she’s hoping $1,500 will encourage witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
“I want to get people motivated to give information to the police or the family so we can get the murderer and get justice for my cousin Eugene,” Fickling said. “I believe it’s going to go as a cold case, and the killer’s going to run free. It just doesn’t seem right to me. I need justice for my family and Eugene … and it just needs to come to an end.”
Fickling said she and Brabham were raised in the same household since she was 6 years old.
“He wasn’t the best guy,” she said, referring to the two years he spent in and out of jail. “(But) he was a crazy, funny, caring guy. He was one of my closest cousins.”
She said she hopes to one day find closure.
“I just want everyone to have peace of mind and everyone to be at peace and at rest,” she said.
Anyone with information is asked to call York City Police at 717-846-1234 or text a tip to 847-411.
