Mr. Earl Gonzales and his 9-year old daughter Clarissa were killed sometime between September 1, 1999 and September 2, 1999. Mr. Gonzales' girlfriend Ms. MaryJo Reese found the bodies of both Mr. Gonzales and his daughter, on Thursday, September 2, 1999.
At this point in the investigation, very little physical evidence was found. One of the things that was learned, was that Mr. Gonzales's vehicle had been stolen one week prior to his murder. Mr. Gonzales had threatened several people, who he suspected might have taken his vehicle.
Mr. Gonzales's vehicle was located one month after his death. Two juvenile suspects have been identified and charged with the theft the vehicle. Mr. Gonzales had confronted the two juveniles shortly after the theft. Several suspects have been interviewed and interrogated; however, very little information regarding the homicide has developed. There are no apparent motives, and no witnesses have come forward.
The only thing that is certain is Mr. Gonzales was probably shot with his own weapon. A .45 Ruger Blackhawk, which is missing from the home. Ms. Gonzales was assaulted and strangled with an electrical cord.
Based on investigating agencies, it is advised to contact the New Mexico State Police at (505) 758-8878, or Agent Carlos A. Martinez, Criminal Investigations Section, at (505) 758-1466, if you have information concerning this crime.

Thoughts? Kind of surprised that this was never on AMW's website considering the sheer number of web-exclusive unsolved cases profiled there. As far as suspects, the offenders who stole Earl Gonzales's car are important people to look at, but I think it's smart of the detectives not to bring anyone to trial until better evidence is discovered.
