Prescott police say that Joel Medina-Ortiz murdered 23-year-old Daniel Cook while at a motel on East Gurley Street in Prescott back on October 28, 2006. Daniel's brother was also slashed and wounded. The two were trying to get inside the motel where they were staying at when two men blocked the entrance. An altercation then broke out with a total of eight men attacking the Cook brothers.

Thoughts? Yavapai Silent Witness does a lot of consistent work with their Catch 22 fugitives program, so kudos to them and I hope it continues to be successful in the future. As for what happened in this case, it is really inexcusable the motive in which the Cook brothers were blocked from simply going inside a motel. Not only that, but Daniel Cook's eight-months pregnant girlfriend had to witness Daniel's murder, that meant their child had to grow up without a father as well.
