I know this might sound weird and I'm not saying this to be funny but it should be stressed imo that Eric Jones' love for the show "The Walking Dead" is a possible clue. (Their season finale being on last night reminded me). The weirdest things we've learned from our AMW days could turn out to be the biggest clue. If someone thinks a guy sort of looks like Jones, if he mentions or talks about the show it could be a dead giveaway (pun only half intended) that the man is Jones.

Given Mr Jones violent past he was captured in Kilgore texas the first time he could theoretically be In a large African American community like Houston or Dallas Fort worth area but he could be in central Virginia like richmond or in coastal virginia like the Hampton.roads area
