When I first made the non-AMW forum section of this site it was for a few reasons. One was to make an excuse to talk about newsworthy breaking news or other fugitives who weren't on AMW and clear up confusion since they technically didn't belong in the AMW fugitives section. Another was to give forum members a way to make a yearly fugitive top 10 list, a tradition usually made from AMW's aired fugitives from the year and even if AMW does come back this year there will probably not be enough episodes to make a competent list.
And a final reason was I figured that although it's not the best odds and admittedly unlikely, it's entirely possible this forum could actually help capture one of these people. In other words, people who google AMW and then find and browse this forum might recognize some of the mugshots. As I result, I usually post contact info for tips found in news articles. And the fugitives' mugshots or a picture as well. I also would usually not post about a fugitive unless I had a mugshot or some type of picture as a result. But I came across a murder so tragic while researching possible cases to feature this week, that I had to post about it anyway, despite being unable to find a picture of the fugitive.
So below, I will post a picture of the victim and specify he is the victim in his honor. Along with a news article, and in a longshot, contact information if anyone has any info. I watched a video about this as well, and they mentioned police have not released a photo of Luan Thin Lam, the suspect. But hopefully, someone who was either there that night and/or knows who this guy is can provide the crucial tip to bring him to justice:
A suspect has been arraigned and another is being sought for the murder of Army 1st Lt. Albert Song at downtown L.A. club Icon Ultra Lounge last month, police announced today.
Song, 24, was knocked out and then kicked when he was down after he tried to intervene in a fight on the dance floor early on June 2, according to police and those who knew him:
While acquaintances said he intervened in a fracas, investigators say the beating was "unprovoked." According to an LAPD statement ...
... Song was at the ICON Club, located in the 1200 block of S. Figueroa St. celebrating an event with a group of friends. As they were celebrating on the dance floor, Song was punched and knocked unconscious. Several suspect then kicked the victim repeatedly. The attack appears to be unprovoked.
Police say it happened about 1:54 a.m. The night's event at Icon was billed as "the biggest Asian party in Los Angeles."
The same day Song was pronounced brain dead, the LAPD says. He was kept on life support until his organs could be donated, according to this tribute page.
Song is a 2011 West Point graduate, according to those who knew him. Cops say he recently completed Army Ranger School and was based in Honolulu.
Police arrested Hong on July 2, they said. He was charged with suspicion of murder, with bail set at $1 million, according to the department.
Meanwhile an arrest warrant has been issued for a second suspect, Luan Thin Lam, cops say. Details about this wanted man were not released, however.
We reached out to detectives for more info but were unable to get through. In any case, if you have info about the attack or Lam's whereabouts, they'd love to speak to you: 213-972-1203.
(side note, according to the CBS link below, you'd be advised to contact homicide detectives Chung or Putnam if you have any info on this case)
