Remarks: Stern may wear corrective lenses. He is believed to have fled the United States, and has ties to South Africa, England, and South America. Who to call if you've seen him: Local FBI field office or embassy or submit a web tip at tips.fbi.govWarren Stern is wanted by the LAPD for a senseless 1996 murder. He was last aired on AMW in 2001, however I believe on the old forums we had determined he was first profiled in 1996. On April 21, 1996, 25-year old Tommy Winn was celebrating his birthday along with several others in the local community. Tommy was an aspiring actor who was trying to make ends meet. For whatever reason, Warren Stern and a few other men showed up at the party uninvited. Stern spent his time at the party picking fights and getting into an argument with Tommy. After Warren left, Tommy went after him and was stabbed to death by Warren. Warren even bragged about killing Tommy. An arrest warrant was issued on Sep 6, 1996. Thoughts? Even though Warren Stern was born in South Africa, I read that he grew up in Los Angeles. If he didn't manage to get to South Africa, assuming he could speak some Spanish, he could blend in somewhat well in Mexico. In my opinion, he must have fled the country, possibly to Latin America. For some reason, his face doesn't strike me as someone who would be too hard to spot.

Can I point out that I cannot stand the age-enhanced drawing of Stern. That drawing to me would only be accurate of Stern gained alot of weight while on the run.

Warren Stern also strikes me as someone who would flee to Latin America. He has a very Latino look to him and especially more if he's gotten tanner. But again Great Britain and South Africa would work out for Stern. He's a native of South Africa and depending if he has the accent he could hide there or in Great Britain without any issues.

I found this article from 1999 on Warren Stern and it says Stern and his family left their Johannesburg home and came to the U.S. when he was at the age of 12. So perhaps Johannesburg is exactly where he was born and possibly hiding there or in the suburbs of that city. They do say place of birth South Africa so entirely possible.
It's hard enough to get any fugitives extradited from South Africa let alone natives so it will be unfortunately difficult if he's there.

That is true and a very unfortunate scenario if he's there, in regards to the article, it discusses in depth Warren Stern's past and his crime and his parents opinion. |

As of July 15th, 2018, Stern is still listed on both the FBI's website and the L.A.P.D. most wanted website as a wanted fugitive. (Same links as in HeadMarshal's OP).

I was just thinking, with the publicity in South Africa that led to the arrest and extradition of Barrett Busschau, the FBI may want to try that in the Warren Stern manhunt.
I feel it would be worth a shot, especially since Barrett was on the run longer than Warren.

Found a 2000 article on the Warren Stern manhunt on Newspapers.com. In it they mentioned sightings in Salt Lake City, Nevada and Baja California, Mexico.
