Murder suspect sought Police on Friday sought a man charged with murder in the shooting of his ex-girlfriend at her southwest Houston apartment. James Eliud Ventura, 31, is charged with killing Otilla Haas, 38, of the 10400 block of Forum Park. Police said relatives who lived with Haas found Ventura pistol-whipping her Thursday night, and they fled when he pointed the pistol at them. Officers found Haas shot in the head in the bathroom and her two children, unharmed, locked in a bedroom. If you have information regarding the whereabouts of James Eliud Ventura, then contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
Moderator Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form--- Thoughts? Thanks to Newslibrary for the 1997 article which I just copied and pasted from their website listing without having to pay $4 CDN since it was just 77 words. Unfortunately there's no further follow-up on this case that I could find information about, so no guesses as to where James Ventura could be today. What I do know is that he is a threat to any women he would start a relationship with and we need to capture him to prevent another tragedy like the murder of Otilla Haas. crime-stoppers.org/crime-database/745031/

I can't find the murder case against Ventura in Harris County's online criminal court records, although I'm assuming he's still wanted as of this update (6/8/2018), since he is still listed on Houston Crime Stoppers. (Same link as in HeadMarshal's OP)
