VALLEJO -- Two months have passed since 15-year-old Pearl Pinson went missing from a pedestrian overpass in Vallejo, and this Monday evening, Mayor Osby Davis encouraged them to keep their hope alive.
"I cannot begin to imagine the pain, nor the void that needs to be filled. And there are no words that will ever fill that void. So I ask that you continue this vigil as a beacon of hope that Pearl will be found and she will come home," Vallejo Mayor Osby Davis said.
Osby said it was his first time attending the prayer vigil that the family has held weekly for the two months that Pearl had been missing, and he told the family it was important for them to hold onto hope that she will come home alive.
"I don't wanna believe she's dead until I have proof about it," Pearl's sister Rose Pinson said.
Rose told FOX40 that tips have continued to trickle into the Solano County Sheriff's Office, but they have not lead investigators any closer toward finding her sister.
The suspect in Pearl's May 25 disappearance, her acquaintance, 19-year-old Fernando Castro was killed in a shootout with police after a pursuit on May 26.
While Pearl's family is troubled that Castro was killed because they believe he may have been the only person who had information regarding her whereabouts, they say they know police had a duty to fulfill.
"They're not in the wrong for it at all. They were protecting themselves. They were defending themselves and the community," Rose Pinson said.
Pearl Pinson is 5'3" tall, weighing 130 pounds with blond hair died green, a lip ring and was last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt, black leggings, and green and black backpack with a joker on it. Because of the path Castro traveled after Pearl's abduction, investigators believe she may be in Northern or Southern California. Thoughts? Obviously, even more time has passed since that article and Pearl is unfortunately still missing under not the most optimistic of circumstances. I am placing her case in the missing on tv section since the syndicated crime show "Crime Watch Daily" did a segment on her case. For some reason my browser is not letting me copy and paste the link but Crime Watch Daily posted her airing on their Facebook page on November 29th, 2016, so I'm assuming the airing date is around that time.
