From koin.com:
VANCOUVER, Wash. (KOIN) — It’s been nearly 8 years since a Clark County brother and sister were gunned down in their driveway.
The murders of Donna Plew and Tim Alioth are unsolved, but they don’t have to be.
“There’s a person of interest in this case and I’m convinced in my mind I know who committed the crime,” investigator Wally Stefan told KOIN 6 News.
Stefan trusts his intuition after 36 years on the job. But his gut feeling has only gotten him so far in solving a crime that gripped a Vancouver neighborhood in 2009.
“It was just shocking,” Stefan said. “I can’t say they were ambushed, but I think the victims were taken by surprise.”
It was around dinner time when neighbors heard the shots and police found Plew and her brother, a Vietnam veteran, dead in her driveway.
Stefan is going public for the first time because the family is still too scared.
“They had sons, they had daughters, they had grandchildren, so you have a whole group of people that want to see this case solved,” the investigator said. “Are they going to be next? Are their lives in danger?”
Stefan said no one could have expected to see Plew and Alioth die at their ages and in the fashion they were killed.
If it’s not because of something they did, was it something they knew?
An answer could compromise the case, crammed into 9 evidence books.
“This is a case that is solvable,” Stefan said. “Something can be done and we’re trying to get this case into the court system.”
Today, Stefan is retired but working as a special investigator with Clark County Sheriff’s Office. He’s asking anyone with information on the crimes to come forward.
“Step up, make a statement, tell the truth and help the prosecutor do his job,” he said.

Thoughts? It seems this is an entirely solvable case with a possible suspect already known. It's a matter of connecting the dots. Hopefully someone does the right thing and calls in the tip that puts it all together.
