Identifying marks: cylindrical scar across buttocks, deformed pinky finger on left or right hand (finger is shorter than normal pinky finger. This finger was crushed as a child and was broken, he never received medical treatment for this injury), scar/hole above left or right knee, scar under right eye. Dolce suffered an injury to the C5 vertabra. This injury was noted on an xray taken on 8-27-84. z10.invisionfree.com/usedtobedoe/ar/t20247.htmNicholas Dolce was aired on AMW during its' first season in 1988. He was a carnival worker wanted for the murder of his mother and the following is a description from a cold case website: Nicolas Joseph Dolce is wanted for the May 2nd, 1986 murder of his mother, Rebecca Bates, 64 of Trinidad, Colorado. Bates was bludgeoned and stabbed several times during a domestic disturbance and was found dead in her home after Dolce called a neighbor and asked that Bates be checked on. Subsequent investigation revealed that the residence was ransacked during the commission of the offense and several of Bates personal belongings, including her vehicle, were stolen by Dolce. Additionally, an attempt was made to conceal the crimes by setting fire to the residence. Bates car was recovered several months later in Kansas City, Missouri. Dolce has remained a fugitive since the commission of this offense. Dolce is known to frequent gay establishments and cross dresses as a female. He also wears heavy makeup and plucks his eyebrows when dressing as a female. He also dyes his hair black. Dolce is a heavy user of alcohol and uses drugs. Aliases: Nicholas Dulce, Nick Dolce, Ed Velencia, Edward Bear, Amos A Maes, Richard Jake DanKert, Eddie Valcia, Edward Valcia, Eli Velasquez, Nick Dolsi, Dale Valicia, Edward Dale Valicia, Marty Whitehorse, Edward Dale Valcia, Nick Sanchez, John McGregor. Identifying marks: cylindrical scar across buttocks, deformed pinky finger on left or right hand (finger is shorter than “normal pinky finger”. This finger was crushed as a child and was broken, he never received medical treatment for this injury), scar/hole above left or right knee, scar under right eye." Additional information: Dolce is known to frequent gay establishments and cross dresses as a female. He also wears heavy makeup and plucks his eyebrows when dressing as a female. He also dyes his hair black. In 1993, a lead was sent to AMW in regard to Dolce, upon investigaiotn, this lead was found that the subject was not Dolce In 1999, tips were received from AMW. These tips were checked and were found not to be Dolce. NOT FOR BROADCAST; It is unknown if Dolce is still alive and in the United States. This agency is currently in the process of checking several hundred unidentified bodies, found throughout the US to determine if any of the remains may be that of Dolce. During past airings, AMW received several tips in regard to Dolce . All tips were followed up on and no new leads were developed." The article doesn't mention that he was a carnival worker and it's logical to believe that's where Dolce continued working at carnivals with a changed appearance. And since Dolce was believed to frequent gay establishments and cross-dress, it's also logical to believe he went to a "gay-friendly" city such as New York or San Francisco. (off-topic but why is it so hard for AMW to capture alleged cross-dressers? I mean even with a wig the face should still show) However, for me, I think it says something that they mention it is unknown if Dolce is still alive. Considering his drug and alcohol abuse, I am leaning that way myself. Thoughts? For the record, I only know that Dolce was a carnival worker because a longtime AMW viewer on the old forums mentioned it when they were talking about cold cases. He was listed on the Trinidad, Colorado Most Wanted website awhile ago but the webmasters appeared to have deleted the whole website. Something else that's interesting, is that back in January 1989, Dolce was nearly caught in South Carolina when he confided in a woman he was living with that he had been featured on AMW. I suspect that he may be dead by now. He could have also passed himself off as latino and fled to Mexico. news.google.com/newspapers?id=6YYiAAAAIBAJ&sjid=gqoFAAAAIBAJ&pg=5410,652613&dq=nicholas+dolce&hl=en

Anyone have a better photo of Dolce? All we have is that very tiny photo of possible age-progressions of Dolce. I'd like a bigger and/or better one.

I can't be of any assistance on that. The issue is that this case has gone so cold that probably no decent leads have been received in several years.

Go to 3:27 in this video and you should find some better photos of him. They're not perfect, but they're at least bigger. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGTV_VSgc50Interestingly, this shows Dolce was profiled on Final Justice at one point. Unfortunately it appears the user who uploaded this episode does not have Dolce's segment.

Thank you Scumhunter, Pakman and Head Marshal for your posts. I'm Nick Dolce's younger sister. We shared a bedroom growing up and I know quite a bit about him. I've retired and am determined to locate him - dead or alive. Any help will be appreciated. Nick may have worked a week or two at some carnival but he never worked at anything for more than a few months. He started life wanting to be a disc jockey and his first job was as a DJ in Raymond, TX. Lasted a few months before he stole his girl friend's car and skipped town. In 1989, he was working on a fishing boat in S. Carolina when the woman he was living with identified him from the AMW segment and called the number to report him. He vanished and that was the last time he was ever seen and identified by anyone. As for dressing in drag, Nick did it occasionally for the primary purpose of getting picked up, going to a gay man's house, beating and robbing the victim. Rumors from his former Trinidad friends indicate he may have taken refuge on an Indian Reservation, possibly in AZ. He used several Native American aliases and my mother told me he received medical treatment on at least one Reservation - but I don't know which one. When he was young, he was known for orchestrating gang rapes of 12-16 year old girls. He was arrested once in Denver when the police found him beating an old man with a 2x4. There was no motive for the crime -- the man had never seen him before and there was no robbery attempt. Sadly, he was convicted of a misdemeanor and released on a bond posted by my mother. Any ideas from anyone on avenues I can pursue for locating Nick Dolce will be appreciated. I agree, he is probably dead but I'd like a more definite resolution before I'm dead!

Hi, Welcome to the forum. Sorry if this a dumb or accidentally insensitive question but I am assuming the mother Nicolas killed was your mother as well? (sometimes there are divorces and stuff like that so just wanted to make sure). If so, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. And it's incredible that Nicolas's thanks to his mother bailing him out of trouble is to brutally murder her. This guy is a monster. As far as advice, I would suggest submitting the case to the Unsolved Mysteries website at unsolved.com Also, there is an excellent forensic artist named Randall Sands who creates age-enhanced sketches of cold case or other fugitives. His work has been featured on John Walsh's new show (ironically, Thayne Smika, another Colorado case) and the Unsolved Mysteries website. I don't know if he charges or not, but it might be a good idea to contact him to see if he can make some age-enhanced sketches. www.facebook.com/RandallTucsonArtistThis added information you provided should also be a big help as far as this forum as well should anyone with information happen to read it. Also, sorry for asking you another question when you came here asking us for advice lol, but I want to make sure my information isn't outdated as the contact information I provided to send in tips Dolce I have is from a message board from 2007. I assume the FBI can still take tips on him even if he's not on their website. Do you have a better police line or contact or is our information up to date? Thanks again for registering, and I hope we can solve this. It's not impossible to do so in my opinion, I have seen even colder cases get solved and I hope you get your answer, dead or alive!

Thank you, Scumhunter, for the information and encouragement! Yes, the mother Nick murdered was my mother -- and she didn't deserve it. Det. Sgt. Martin of the Trinidad Police Dept. asked that leads on this case go to: 719-846-4441, 719-845-TIPS (8477), or contact your local FBI office. I'm working on a Facebook page to post before next week. Head Marshall may be right about Nick going south over the border -- either Mexico or further. In the early 1980's, after Nick stole my mother's cherished wedding rings (from our deceased father) and fled leaving her with on the hook for $5000 in bail bonds, my mother wrote this in a letter to me: "He [Nick] told 'Y' [Nick's 8-year niece] that one of these days he was going to leave this country and not let any of his family know where he is. All our lives we will be wondering 'What ever happened to Nick Dolce.' At the time 'Y' told me this, I didn’t even mention it to him (thinking he was just talking) but I do know this is exactly what he did." Very easy to die in Mexico and never be found/identified. But, someone somewhere knows something and if they're willing to pass on that information, it just might solve the mystery. I think the more I get this story out there, the better chance for solving the mystery.
