Authorities in Harris County, Texas are still searching for the killers of an off-duty deputy sheriff since 1991. I have no evidence that the case was aired on AMW back in 90s, however it's always possible the case was featured.
On the evening of Sep 30, 1991, 34-year old Roxyann Allee told her family that she was going shopping at a local mall. Witnesses saw two men follow Roxyann into the parking lot and accosted and forced her into her van. An hour-and-a-half later, her burning van was discovered. The next day her fully clothed body was discovered in a field. Her service weapon was never recovered.
Authorities believe the motive for the crime was a simple carjacking. However when the two carjackers realized that Roxyann was a Sheriff's Deputy, they decided to kill her and torch her van. There are vague descriptions of the two suspects, only that both were black males, one was 5'9 and the other was in his late 20s to his early 30s. Composite sketches were created however they never resulted in an identification. In 2002, investigators used new technology to enhance store surveillance tape of the killers purchasing gasoline right before the presumed carjacking, that's how the composites were created.
Thoughts? I presume the killers are known by law enforcement for different crimes and at least one may be currently serving time for something unrelated to Roxyann's murder. Unless they confide to someone regarding their involvement in this murder, it's unlikely they'll ever be identified.
