A 31-year-old man has been charged with murder in the slaying of a Houston mother of four children.
Police are looking for Manuel Puentes, address undetermined, in the slaying of Mary Apodaca, 29. She was was shot to death early Wednesday in her home at 12915 Century in northeast Houston as her 10-year-old daughter looked on.
Investigators said Apodaca's slayer forced his way into her home after she came home from a date about 2 a.m. Wednesday. An argument ensued and the man took a gun from Apodaca, began beating her with it, then shot her in the head, police said.
The man fled after the shooting, police said. Two other of Apodaca's children were also at home. Bond for Puentes was set at $10,000.

Thoughts? It's always completely unacceptable whenever children have to witness violence against at least one of the parents, especially if a murder takes place. Manuel Puentes would be around 61 years of age today so it's quite possible that he's still alive. It's not certain if he's in Latin America today or is still somewhere in the United States.
