Maryland authorities have been after Edward John Santora for nearly 25 years. He was aired on AMW in 1999 and 2000, although I have a feeling he was aired earlier than that.
Back in 1981, Santora was a mathematics teacher in Silver Springs, Maryland when he began a sexual relationship with a 13-year old boy. Santora became a father figure to the boy and took him to baseball games, ski trips and paid his high-school tuition. Problems started when the relationship became sexual and violent. Santora set up a grade system consisting of rewards and punishments. For poor grades, Santora would tie the boy's hands to overhead pipes and beat him with a belt. When the victim was 21, he came forward with the details of the abuse and Santora was arrested in 1989. Santora fled his home several months later after posting bail and has not been seen since.
Thoughts? I presume that if he's still not in the Mid-Atlantic region of the US, he could have fled to another affluent region of the world such as Canada or Europe. Considering Santora paid the boy's high school tuition, this leads me to believe he led a middle to upper-class lifestyle. He would be around 65 years old by now, which isn't an age we should be concerned regarding him dying anytime soon. It's quite likely he's still alive and has assumed another identity for himself.
