Missing Child/Person Profile as of September 3rd, 2014 (From missingkids.com): Missing Since: Sep 12, 1994 Missing From: Choctaw, OK DOB: Mar 21, 1988 Age Now: 26 Sex: Male Race: White Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Brown Height: 3'10" Weight: 45 lbsTIPS: If you have any information on this case, please call the Choctaw Police Department (Oklahoma) - Missing Persons Unit at 1-405-769-3821 or your local FBIMichael Hughes has been missing from Oklahoma since 1994. AMW aired the case in 1994. Michael was the son of a boyfriend of a woman called "Suzanne Davis". The woman and Franklin Delano Floyd were wanted in a 1990 Florida homicide, soon after, Suzanne was killed in a suspicious hit-and-run accident in Oklahoma City. Michael was then placed in foster care. On September 12, 1994, Floyd abducted Michael and his elementary school principal. Floyd tied the principal to a tree and escaped with Michael. Two months later, Floyd was arrested in Kentucky but refused to divulge information on Michael's whereabouts. Floyd claimed that Michael was living outside the US but witnesses reportedly heard Floyd confessing that he had murdered Michael. Michael has never been seen alive again. The story of Michael's mother is another mystery in itself. The woman's first public record came when she enrolled in an elementary school in Oklahoma City in 1975. Investigators discovered numerous photos of Michael's mother in Floyd's truck, showing her in various pornographic photos starting when she was approximately four years of age. Other pornographic photos of other young women and girls were discovered. Floyd had been convicted of abducting and raping a young girl from a bowling alley in 1962. Floyd was sentenced to death for the 1990 Florida murder. The woman's real identity has never been determined. Thoughts? I can only assume that Michael is dead by now and Floyd disposed of his body in a way that would make it difficult to discover. Part of me wonders if Suzanne Davis was adopted as a baby or toddler from parents who didn't want her as a child. Why Floyd has never revealed the truth (and could perhaps get off death row in Florida) is something I can't understand, unless he wants to be executed. www.charleyproject.org/cases/h/hughes_michael.htmlnewsok.com/tv-show-to-air-choctaw-abduction-case/article/2483543www.missingkids.com/poster/NCMC/795152/1Admin Note: If you have any updated information on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

This is a really weird case. Unfortunately, Michael is likely no longer alive. This is such a mysterious case it's hard to make assumptions or pontificate. It seems Franklin Delano Floyd (and I find it disturbing a disgusting human being as him was given the distinguished first and middle name of a former U.S. President) might have been in a twisted relationship with "Suzanne" since she was a small child.
Also, off-topic, but this highlights a problem with the death penalty. I don't know when he was sentenced after his 1994 arrest, but it's obviously been over 10 years. California by far takes the longest, but it seems other states take forever to finally kill these guys as well.

Sadly, it's all but certain that Michael is dead. Floyd, while stating he gave him away, also has admitted to others to killing him. Unfortunately, he's either at the bottom of a river somewhere, or buried in a location only Floyd knows.
If you guys haven't, I recommend A Beautiful Child. It goes into great detail about what they know about Floyd and "Suzanne" and their time together.

Also, quick correction, Floyd was not the biological father of Michael. A paternity test taken during a hearing to determine whether or not he was a fit parent for Michael showed that. The father was a boyfriend of "Suzanne."

Well, the mystery is half-solved. "Suzanne/Sharon Marshall" has been identified as Suzanns Sevakig. In the early 70s, Franklin Floyd went to North Carolina and married a divorcee with 4 kids, three girls and a boy. The woman was arrested for a minor crime and after spending 30 days in jail, came home to find Floyd and her kids gone. Two of her daughters were found at a social services agency, but Suzanne and her brother were not. The brother has never been found. According to the fbi agent the blogger spoke to, they have an idea as to where they might find Michael's body. I'll be honest, I never thought they would identify Michael's mother. Brings some closure, but it won't be fully resolved until Michael is found. www.mattbirkbeck.com/blog/finally

Glad to see that at least. Rather frustrating Floyd remains tight lipped as far as Michael's whereabouts when it comes to speaking to officials although he's apparently admitted to others he killed him.. I mean he's on death row, so what does he have to lose? As I mentioned in the thread on Wetterling, I also believe there are similarities between this case and Jacob's and hope Floyd is looked into for that one as well.

I've read several different claims of how Michael died and where his body is; from being thrown off a bridge still alive, to being drowned in a bathtub, to being buried in a cemetery. Hopefully, this latest search will uncover what really happened.
And while I'm iffy on the death penalty, Floyd is someone I'll be quite happy to see executed. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll happen. The guy's in his 70s, and I don't think they've set an execution date yet. I see Floyd dying in prison before he gets the punishment he deserves.

I vary on the death penalty in normal circumstances. Floyd certainly deserves it, but in this case I have to admit it might be better the longer he stays alive for the slight chance he may one day reveal more details. It took an additional 12 years after Ottis Toole passed away to unequivocally name him Adam Walsh's killer, for example.

HI, I haven't been on in awhile but pertaining to Suzanne Sevakig (Sevakiq, which I think is a false name for privacy issues) aka Sharon Marshall, I have been following this case for years and what a very evil man. I'm happy Suzanne got her name back hopefully now her family can heal and find closure. But, even if they find Michaels remains floyds already in jail, What punishment could justify Michaels murder? He has never even been charged in Suzanne's Murder! He's in jail for Cheryl's murder. Just to imagine the constant abuse this poor little girl had to put up with and yet to grow into a very intelligent woman and poof ..He needs to pay for what he did to this family.

Hey bella,
welcome back!
Well I guess in regards to Floyd the one solace is that he's already in jail, and will likely die in jail whether they ever get around to executing him.
However, I understand the friends and family of Michael and Suzanne probably want official "closure" from the police and Floyd named the killer. (I hate the word closure since there never truly is- but in terms of the technical case- closure).
But I agree, there never is really a punishment that fits the crime. Although there can be a sense of satisfaction when we get guys off the streets so they can't harm anyone else.

Amazing the see such a case with a web of mess. All because of one sick man. I do hope that the whereabouts of Suzanne's brother and son are discovered one day.

Franklin Floyd has finally admitted to killing Michael Hughes. The article above goes into more detail, but apparently authorities believe Michael's body will never be found because wild hogs that roam the woods where Floyd left him would have eaten even the boy’s bones. Glad there is some sort of closure for Michael's family now though. swtimes.com/news/state-news/fbi-death-row-kidnapper-admits-killing-oklahoma-boy-1994

One last piece on the Floyd saga. Phillip Brandenburg, the brother of Suzanne Sevakis has been found alive as of 2020. He had been kidnapped by Franklin Floyd along with Sevakis and two other sisters (the later two also found alive) but he abandoned Suzanne siblings to "raise" her. So really the mystery surrounding Suzanne Sevakis's death and Michael Hughes' remains are the only loose ends left of Floyd's demented saga.
