In 1990, Santana Ornelas was a student at a local college when he was charged with robbery. A friend convinced Santana to assist him in robbing his home. Santana failed to appear in court and a warrant was issued in 1990. However, since then the statute of limitations have expired on the robbery charge and as a result, Santana Ornelas is no longer a fugitive but a missing person instead.
In 2012, Santana's family pleaded for information as to his whereabouts. Santana was the only 100% match for a kidney for his severely ill father. Authorities think that Santana may be living under a new name and social security number.

If Santana Ornelas is reading this, he needs to understand that authorities would not arrest him today for that robbery charge and we are only looking for him so that his family can be reassured that he is okay. One thing that I should note is that he remained on the run for several years as a fugitive. This would be despite only being a young adult with no assistance from his family. I hope that he didn't die sometime after disappearing in 1990 because his family desperately wants him back home in Novato.
