From Fox Baltimore:
BALTIMORE (WBFF) – Over a decade after a 23-year-old woman was found brutally murdered, Baltimore County Police are still searching for answers into the puzzling slaying.
On November 5, 2005 around 10:45 p.m. Tiona Smith left her job at a McDonald’s on Cranbrook Rd. in Cockeysville. According to police, Smith then boarded an MTA bus and got off at the bus stop on Eutaw St. at Fayette St. in Baltimore City. A witness saw a small four-door vehicle with three men in it pull up to her at the intersection and one of the occupants reportedly called Smith by name.
“Eventually, she got into the car,” police report.
Around 11 a.m. the following day, children playing in the neighborhood found her body in the back of Fox Meadow Rd. by St. Lukes Lane. Smith’s body revealed trauma to her head and upper body. The Medical Examiner concluded that her cause of death was multiple sharp force injuries and her manner of death was homicide.
Baltimore County Police thoroughly investigated her murder but say they weren’t able to develop any information that could lead to the identification of any of the suspects who could be involved. Friends and family members also say Smith was easygoing and friendly, and didn’t know of anyone who would have wanted to cause harm to her.
Nearly 11 years later, police are continuing the search for her killer, asking the public for help.
“Even if a person thinks the information will not mean anything or is not enough to help, it could be that little bit of information that helps police clear this case.”
Detectives ask anyone with information to call police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
