Stunning turn of events as Aaron Hernandez was found dead in his prison cell in what officials are calling a suicide. Just last week, he was found not guilty of the double murder which he was accused of committing in order to cover up the murder of Odin Lloyd. Because of that, despite serving life, you'd think that would inspire him to go on further on appeal in that case. Apparently, still serving life for one murder was enough to make his life miserable despite his second trial acquittal. Part of me does find this timing suspicious, but the other part of me says karma's a b**** and it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/19191248/former-new-england-patriots-te-aaron-hernandez-commits-suicide-prison

Oh wow, we posted at the same time. Like I said, this really came out of nowhere considering what happened last week.

I would like to say though while I don't have much sympathy for Aaron Hernandez the person, I do have some sympathy for the "story" of Aaron Hernandez. Here's a guy who was always getting into trouble on the streets, given a second chance by the New England Patriots, probably the gold standard of all sports teams, plays well and on paper turns his life around, becomes a millionaire and such. But he still can't escape from his past and goes back to his life of crime anyway. He was initially a rags to riches success story but his life ended as a disgraced convicted murderer. I feel bad for what Hernandez could have become, although not really for the person himself.

My reaction to his death is....... what a waste. He threw his life away by going back to his past life when being in the NFL could have been his golden ticket to settle down and do good. He played well, but couldn't keep himself out of trouble. Imagine what was going through his mind last night thinking about ending himself, he knew he f**ked up but wouldn't survive in prison. He took the same way out as Ariel Castro and the timing is very suspicious. Also since this is 1 of the 2 trending topics that is being talked about heavily. i feel like we shouldn't hate the man but what he did, clearly it was wrong and he paid the price because it tormented him. Let it be clear to anyone that he will now be an example of a success story turned murderer and everyone should avoid being like or try their best to.

I should note I read that because of MA state law his conviction in the Odin Lloyd case is now vacated. (That's the law if a defendant dies while on appeal). So he died a technically innocent man and now it will be harder for Odin Lloyd's family to sue his estate in a wrongful death lawsuit. (It would have affected his 4 year old daughter if they won). So I'm a little less suspicious now since those are plausible reasons he'd want to end his life. I am allowed to give my opinion as well though and it is my opinion that although found legally not guilty he did commit the double murder and got away with it because he had an excellent defense attorney (just like O.J. Simpson had an excellent defense team) and did in fact kill Odin Lloyd which a jury did agree with. It is frustrating when I see people feel sorry for Aaron Hernandez when there are much more sympathetic figures but I would say I do view his life as a tragic wasted oppprtunity.

Just wanted to add I agree he has so much potential he was clearly talented but troubled my dad watched him during the time he played in college with the Florida gators he had several incidents during that time before he was drafted to the new England Patriots before Odin lloyd lost his life to Aaron Hernandez his conviction was actually reinstated after Massachusetts supreme Court overturned the legal doctrine that was under Massachusetts law it was called abatement and initio rendered from Latin to English "from the beginning" just thought I would update it also says his partner and daughter were eligible for the contract money he earned before he was terminated by the patriots at least Odin's family can take solace in the fact his conviction was reinstated and I think Hernandez was a very damaged individual whether it was from malice which i think it was because he was very methodical in killing Odin as he enlisted two accomplices not to mention the double homicide evidence was there later on discovered that the Boston globe found he was involved however whether he pulled the trigger is anyone's guess but two men lost there lives and Hernandez also had prior arrests for assault dui and felony weapons charges and attempted murder but I think others have different opinions in my opinion he was a damaged but heartless monster
