(Note: Lauren would be 23-24 years old as of this edit. Our advice would be to call the Bloomington, Indiana police at the above photo's number if you have any information on this case). It is has now been two years since Indiana University college student Lauren Spierer disappeared after being out late one night. Her parents back home have appeared in many media outlets and AMW to try to get answers but Lauren remains missing and the case remains unsolved. Now the Spierer parents have filed a lawsuit against three college students who were with Lauren that night. The suit charges Corey Rossman, Jason Rosenbaum and Michael Beth with "negligence resulting in the disappearance, death or injury of an adult child." Rossman and Rosenbaum also are charged with "negligence per se" and "dram shop," a legal term used when damages are sought for providing alcohol to someone who is clearly intoxicated Spierer's parents have made several public statements with strong words for Rossman, Beth and Rosenbaum. "We still believe that she may not have left Corey and Mike's or Jay's apartment," Rob Spierer recently told The (Westchester County, N.Y.) Journal-News. It should be noted no criminal charges have been filed against the three students. web.archive.org/web/20120101160530/http://www.amw.com/missing_persons/case.cfm?id=78395#briefwww.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/06/26/missing-students-parents-file-civil-negligence-suit/2462447/Admin Note : If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

The Spierer case was profiled on "Crime Watch Daily" today. Another Indiana University student named Hannah Wilson disappeared earlier in the year and was later found murdered. A man named Daniel Messel has been charged and is considered a person of interest in Spierer's disappearance. (Jill Behrman was another Indiana University who went missing in the year 2000. She was profiled on Unsolved Mystery and found murdered in 2006. Her killer was in prison at the time of Lauren's disappearance. Update: The Bloomington Police Department and federal agents conducted investigative work in Morgan County on Thursday in connection to the disappearance of Lauren Spierer, an Indiana University student who has been missing since 2011. FBI spokeswoman Wendy Osborn confirmed to IndyStar that federal agents assisted Bloomington police, including following up on tips and leads, in connection to Spierer's disappearance. Bloomington police confirmed their involvement in a news release Thursday evening. Both agencies declined to name the exact location. Local media reports suggested Justin Wagers, who currently is being held in Johnson County on charges of public indecency and performing sexual conduct in the presence of a minor, was connected to the FBI investigation. Wagers' attorney, Chris Eskew, said his client "has no knowledge regarding the disappearance of Lauren Spierer or any other missing person." "The (Wagers) family has no further comment at this time and asks that the media respect their privacy," Eskew said in the statement released late Thursday. Spierer, 20, disappeared after a night out drinking with friends early June 3, 2011, in downtown Bloomington. The disappearance of Spierer, a fashion merchandise major from Greenburgh, N.Y., drew widespread attention as local, county, university, state and federal law enforcement conducted a search. Searchers scoured at least three lakes and combed through two forests. They looked through abandoned buildings and sifted through trash at a landfill near Terre Haute. They covered 99 percent of all Monroe County roads and most publicly accessible land within a 114-square-mile radius.Spierer's story was featured on CNN, Fox News and "America's Most Wanted." She also appeared on billboards and in countless news articles. BPD remains the lead investigative agency on the case, Osborn said. www.indystar.com/story/news/fox59/2016/01/28/fbi-conducting-investigation-morgan-county/79461850/
